Jim Wallhead vs Mattias Awad

Now confirmed for Enter The Rough House 6 is a bout between the Leicester based Judo Black Belt Jim Wallhead (12-5-0) and the 2005 European Vale Tudo GP Winner Mattias Awad (6-2-0)

Wallhead returns to Nottingham just 3 weeks after suffering a decision loss at Cage Warriors USA: Battle Royale against the Floridian Charles Blanchard from the American Top Team. Despite having a strong first round Wallhead was unable to capitalise and felt disappointed at his performance. As a result he immediately contacted the CWFC matchmaking team for a chance to fight on the April 19th "Enter The Rough House" show and seek redemption.

Despite the loss on his US debut; Wallhead is an accomplished MMA fighter who has held two British Titles and also won the 2h2h Under 83kg/183lbs "Road To Japan" Tournament in 2006.  Known for his takedowns, ground and pound and improving striking; Wallhead has rightfully found his way into the top 10 European rankings and with wins over UFC veterans Jason Tan and Steve Lynch, he will look to get get back to winning ways when he enters the Harvey Hadden Centre on April 19th.

However facing Wallhead is one of Europe's best Welterweight talents and a fighter that Cage Warriors have looked to bring to their promotion for some time.  As Mattias Awad flies in from Sweden looking to make a successful debut inside the CWFC cage, after visiting Cage Warriors previously as a cornerman in 2005.

Awad was originally set to face Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy, however due to the complications that prevented Hardy's fight with Chad Reiner from taking place at Cage Warriors USA in March, that fight was postponed until April 19th. This left the CWFC team to decide upon the replacement for Awad, however thanks to Awad's management team, Cage Warriors have been able to confirm this excellent fight for "Enter The Rough House 6".

Awad is known for his submission skills, durability and patience, which has seen him claim wins over top ranked European stars such as Daniel Weichel and Mario Stapel. Whilst Awad is also famous for winning the the 2005 European Vale Tudo -76kg Grand Prix by getting a TKO win over the versatile French striker Mohamed Khacha and submitting the BJJ Black Belt Fabricio Nascimento in the Final.

However Awad has spent some time away due to injuries and other commitments but still remains one of Europe's best Welterweight fighters and with his vast submission grappling and Shootfighting background (Awad is 6-4 in Shootfighting bouts) he will test whether or not Wallhead was wise to come back so quick after his disappointment in the USA and will be looking to get back to winning ways himself after dropping a deision to the BJJ Black Belt Jonatas Novaes late last year.
