Paul “Metabolic” McVeigh To Enter The Cage Force Bantamweight Tournament In Japan

Warrior Promotions UK MMA Limited are proud to announce that the Cage Warriors Bantamweight World Champion Paul "Metabolic" McVeigh (12-4-0) will travel to the land of the rising sun on April 5th when he enters the Cage Force Bantamweight Tournament in Tokyo, Japan.

Warrior Promotions (who manage McVeigh) have been in discussions with GCM (The company behind the Cage Force promotion) for some time, and are very pleased that another one of their fighters will be travelling to Japan to fight. Warrior Promotions hope that Paul McVeigh will follow in the footsteps of Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy who impressed the Japanese media and fans alike with some superb performances in the Cage Force Welterweight Tournament last year.

This exciting and dynamic Bantamweight is known for his aggressive high-tempo displays, coupled with his background in BJJ and submission wrestling and has won numerous Titles in the UK as a result. However McVeigh has longed to fight in Japan ever since he turned pro nearly five years ago. Now he will get his chance to fight in Japan in what promises to be a very intriguing tournament, against an as yet un-named opponent.

McVeigh is on a currently on a four bout win streak and is undefeated in Bantamweight division. He is also a two-weight Cage Warriors Champion having won the Cage Warriors Featherweight Title in 2003, and the Cage Warriors Bantamweight Title in 2004, when he defeated Chin Weakasingh for a second time. McVeigh has since successfully defended his Title against Phil Harris (in 2005) and last time out defeated the BJJ Black Belt Anderson Pereira by submission last October.

Warrior Promotions wish Paul McVeigh, the very best of luck as he looks to make a solid impact on his Japanese debut. Whilst this move also reinforces the increasing influence that Warrior Promotions has in the world MMA stage. And with an extended schedule of shows planned for 2008, including a Cage Warriors event in the USA; Warrior Promotions hope this will mark the start of a very successful year for everyone involved in the organisation.
