ok my mum has removed IE Completely from her computer, i did a system restore with no luck. tried:
Control Panel > add and remove > windows compenants > the IE to hopefully put it back, it then appeared but then said it was invalid or had been removed.
any ideas? someone suggested DLing it from another comp, tried that this morning but it wanted to check if my Windows was "Geniune" and as this is a back up copy i didnt want to run it.
any ideas people?

didn't think u might have a dodgy copy.
best bet is to go with firefox or netscape in that case i reckon.

Try this.....
Click start then Run
Type:
rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\Inf\ie.inf
You may need the XP cd.
Have you asked her how she performed this miracle? Technically speaking its seeded into everything XP, if its not in the Windows Component section, it's probably been hidden by a configuration file. Find C:\windows\inf\ than the file sysoc.inf look at IEAccess=.... is the word hide present? If so get rid of it.
