Taken from my myspace blog, gotta get fit!

Right, Ricky is on a mission, he will be losing two and a half stone before The Glastonbury Festival which is on the 22 of June. Why I want to lose weight i hear you ask? well training in MMA and Muay Thai is fun, but i cant wait to get in the ring/cage and have my own fights and kick some ass, being such a short ass as i am and weighing so much its very hard trying to find myself an opponent to beat up!

How am i going to lose the weight?

Well im going to start a diet where you eat carbs one day and protenes the next, never mixing the two together on the same day, the diet is called the slimming world diet(look it up) im not going to be attending any of the slimming clubs though, as im not a fat middle aged woman. im going to step up my training in MMA and Muay Thai fitting them in where and when possible around my work rotar, and on days i can not make the gym im off up the local athletics track with my brand new specially fitted £80s worth of running shoes(reduced to £40 as they were on sale)

Im also going to give up drinking up until glastobury(come glasto im going to be a drinking light-weight(as well as a light weight))

Also im going to ban my self from certain foods

List of foods im not going to eat!

Kebabs, Chips, White bread, Crisps, Cheese, Hamburgers, Sandwages, Butter, Coke, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, Ice Cream , Chocolate........

The following: fast food places, Mcdonalds, Burger King, Subway, KFC, Pizza Hut, any kebab shop, any fish and chip shop.........

Also im going to eat 5 portions of fruit and veg a day!

The only thing i will be drinking is water, some high quality H20.

The Slimming World Diet has two days, red days where you only eat red foods which contain pretene eg, meat meat and more meat! and the Green day which you eat Green Foods that contains carbs, eg, potatoes, pasta, rice brown bread. and then there are free foods, which you are able to eat on both days fruit and veg, beans salad and most other healthy shit! Everyother day is a red day.

About two years ago i did the slimming world diet and lost two and a half stone in a month along side training MMA. when i started work my fittness and my health went down hill big time! Im going to get my fittness back!

Every day ill post a reply to my blog to let people know how am i doing, jotting down what i ate, what training i did and once a week ill record my weight! my first weigh in is tomorrow(Monday 7th of May) and every monday there after!

On the weekend i got a lot of partying out of my system, i went camping up the gower(lush place) and drank my last drink, smoked my last joint, swallowed my last pill and binged my last greacy burger for a very long time.

Wish me luck guys, i need a lot of support from my friends to keep me going and not to force me to come out and party with them, i gotta do this i gotta get in the ring/cage before i get too old and too fat(even though i am only 21) keep looking back and see how im doing. thanks guys!!!

BRo, if you hit the plateau - as you will do - try alkalising your blood levels.... I have dropped 25kgs since NYE by this and what you are doing, food combining (no carbs and proteins together). Randy Coture did the same thing when he dropped from HW to LHW. Its amazing how good you feel. Old injuries go away really quickly too! PM me if you need more details!

Cheers

Alien just thought I would hand a bit of advice I cut down from 74/5 to 65 over two months because I wanted to fight light, this was particularly hard as I didnt see me as that fat really.
As well as training long slow cardio sessions and had only 2 days rest for a week, I cut all the shite out just like you are, no treats at all substituted bread with wholemeal pittas too quality substitute in my opinion, had porridge every morning (oatso simple to a lovely range) with chopped banana in maybe some nuts and raisins. would have a light dinner chicken salad or sandwhich, main meal was normally pasta or stir fry with chicken breast and light tomato sauce type stuff and I stopped eating after 6 o clock.
I didnt eat any red meat either

For water I was drinking about 4 litres a day without fail making sure I always had a full 2 litre bottle with me or close to me and just sipping throughout day.

The not mixing the proteins and carbs thing sounds good too Im, no expert Alien but what I did worked for me I just ate healthy kept up the cardio and the weight dropped off, the hardest thing was resisting sweet foods for me so would just snack on fruit througout day for the sugars in that.

Good luck man hope it goes well.

two weeks ago my wake up weight was 68.9 and my sleep weight was 70.4 - ish. Right now my wake up weight is 67.5 and my sleep weight is 68.7.

My old diet wasn't really bad:
Muesli (Alpen) in morning
Subway for lunch, maybe a nutrigrain
Chicken in breadcrumbs, Potatoe waffles/mash potatoe/smiley faces (yes, I am a kid!) and peas or sweetcorn for tea
Super I would eat 3 Muller Light Yoghurts
2 Apples

My diet then moved to:
Oats in morning (140cal)
3 Rice cakes (17cal per cake) & 75g of chicken for lunch (85cal)
Tin of tuna (135cal), banana (100cal) & whey before training
Tin of tuna (135cal), banana (100cal) & whey after training
Mince/Salmon (140cal) with peas (120cal)
2 rice cakes (17cal per cake) and 2 boiled eggs (160cal) for supper

About 1200 calories. Very low carb, Very low fat, very high in protein. I weigh under 11 stone, so I can keep this diet up, if you weight more than that this diet is probably too little for you too survive on :P

My advice is do 20-25 minutes hard but steady cardio in the morning at about 12kmph-15kmph (try to do a distance of 5KM in this time - about 3 miles) start at 12kmph and work up to 15 in the last 2 minutes. Have a 3-5 minute rest, jump back on and do 5-10 sets of 30 second sprints at 18kmph-20kmph... That will melt fat off you. The other one is to do cardio with weights, I got a decent routine from stapes, dunno if he wants to share it :P

Good Luck MMAlien, Slimming World is the biz. I have a copy of the big book of Syn directory, listing all the points and stuff for food, its from a few years ago but if aren't sure of a syn value or anything for any item, just give us a yell! :)

It really is good stuff, but you want a high protein diet and enough carbs to get through training..Don't take xenadrine after 3pm due to sleeplessness..

I've been attempting to lose weight as well. I'm 6'6'' and before I started was around 198-200 pounds. However I am now done to 182-184 pounds but still have some way to go. I ideally want to get down to a natural weight of about 168-170.

The best advice I can offer, and it isn't rocket science, is just to try and cut out all the shit from your diet. No more pizzas, curries, burgers etc. Also cut out things like packets of crisps and chocolate bars that I would have with a sandwich at lunch. I'm trying my best to cut out beer as well although this is a lot harder to put into practice as the offer is pretty much constantly there. I have cut out pints (calorie wise they are a killer) but still have the odd bottle of beer but mainly drink something like Vodka and Soda if I'm going out. Fizzy drinks and tea / coffee are also no longer on the menu and I mainly drink water during the day and juice when I come home.

hope i can lose another 9 and a half pounds by next monday!

Without putting you down, because I am not ;) In the first week of a diet you will usually lose double (maybe even triple) what you would usually lose per week, because you lose excess water weight and a lot of weight that you usually carry round in your stomach (you know what I mean!).

I will make an estimate that next week you will lose 4-5 pounds (which is still brilliant!) seeing as the average weight loss for someone is 1-3 pounds per week.

Glad the diet is going well and nearly 10 pounds in a week is phenominal!
