On a thread last nite on mma.tv Dana white said that the reason why UFC 41 isn't on sky is to due with the fact that Sky are more or less holding them to ranson, and that Zuffa arent going to give ufc 41 to sky, unless they get a good deal out of it.
He said he will keep trying. I suggested he should try setanta sports (also on the Sky EPG) So hopefully something will happen, but i doubt it.
But that leads me to this point. Surely Zuffa aren't in a position to dictate to SKY as thats face it, MMis still a minor sport on the grand scale of things. Look at how the WWE for example messed with sky back in the mid 90's when they were doing poorly. They gave it the large to sky, and SKY bitch slapped them. However when WWE was getting good ratings, SKY bent over backwards to give them a big 5 year deal.
So maybe it is in Zuffa's intrerets to let sky have a short deal which isn't in their favour, so that when MMA/UFC takes off, then Zuffa will have the upper hand in financial dealings.
