I badly need a job people. leaving college soon and am hoping to get a full time job in september.
can anyone out there help me? It would be greatly appriciated.
I'm 18 years old, my gcse's were mostly c's with a couple of b's and will have a levels in film and media at the end of this year if that helps.
I'm just looking for a good job (a career one), something cool that i would like and pays. I hate being skint.
I live in south shields so hopefully somewhere in the shields/south tyneside/sunderland area.
Also: need a part time job for now. any ideas or anyone looking for staff?
Cheers

forces are a good shout mate
over than that, i recommend trying to get a trade behind you....look at the councils near you, they usually take on apprentice Sparkys, plumbers, plasterers etc

Join the army mate. To be honest I haven't gone in yet. I'm still waiting. Join the infantry. You dont need to think and you get to fire a gun.

i would strongly recommend an apprenticship. youve got till your 25, then its gone. at 27 i kick myself daily, now im struggling to get work as a trainee sparky. even offering to work for free so i can get experience doesnt work. apparently they have to pay me for insurance reasons. see what is available through training providers funded by the local council. theres loads of them out there. dont stack shelves or work in any customer service based work. youll turn into a dick! i waisted 3 years in sainsburys and got nothing. apprentice electrician if you want a challenge, apprentice plasterer if you dont. but theres always a job out there for these positions. check the local job pages and see whats the highest paid job thats always there. usually accounting, business admin or a construction trade
anyway
good luck

Couldnt agree more. Apprenticeship followed by setting up on your own. The amount of money you can get by being self employed sparky can be a fair bit! Plus you don't have to answer to anyone. Some of my advertisers I see are electricians/builders and living in massive posh houses and seem to be quite well off!

Im a teacher mate and all the advice we're supposed to give our pupils is that they should go to Uni. I personally think this is a lot of crap as my mates that left school and went to be apprentices now make far more than me and im seemingly an educated proffessional!? Licence to print money if your a plasterer or plumber up here in Scotland!

i know a shit load of people who would agree
they say that they worked hard in school
and then college
but all the chavs and brainless wankers are earning more doing trades like plastering.
i laugh at people who go to uni, i only know one person who has got a job from what they attained at uni, the rest work in burger king or return to study somthing else.
look to a big firm, vt shipbuilding is supposed to be a good one in the south.
electrical or water or gas companys. £15000 is what you get as a trainee. its hard getting the job though. they send you to college as well apparently. it sounds to good to be true.
careful if you do try a distance learning course though as some can be a real rippoff.
i just bought the curriculum support pack for the electricians course. it helps some.
any one want a copy pay for the cd and postage and you can have one.
