Compete for Great Britain in Grappling – another exclusive from the Fighting Photographer!
I have been informed that further to recent discussions held at FILA (International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles) Headquarters at which the British Wrestling Association Chairman was present, the World Grappling Committee has decided to approve/instruct and direct the Great Britain Grappling Trials to select a team for the first World Grappling Championships.

Great Britian Team Selection Trials Sunday 29th July 2005, for the first FILA World Grappling Championships (Turkey 7-9 Sept 2007).
Stantonbury Centre Milton Keynes MK14 6BN
Cost £25 to enter spectators £5.
Men: 62 kg/ 70 kg/80 kg/ 92 kg/125 kg/
Women 48 kg/ 55 kg/63 kg/ 72 kg
This event is open to all but please note you must have a valid British Passport to represent GB at this event; the event will be pool system to allow the top two fighters from each weight to emerge and be in contention for the two slots available for each weight division.
A British Grappling Committee headed by Ebe Ghansah (Great Britain representative for the World Grappling Committee) under the aegis of the World Grappling Committee has been formed and no doubt will not be strangers to those in the know:-
Simon Hayes (Carlson Gracie/ BJJ-Revolution Team)
Paul Ivens (London Shootfighters)
Paul Murphy (Ultimate Force UK)
Marc Goddard (AMMA)
The aim is for this Committee is to cooperate with the British Wrestling Association to share expertise and work together on sport specific issues.
Technical Advisors will include Braulio Estima (2x BJJ World Champion)

If you want to compete for Great Britain please speak directly to Ebe at academyinfo247@aol.com to secure a place in the trials please stating weight Cat/club/competition experience.
Please inform guys that don’t have access to the forums.
