What happened the last time you said something like that?.... see you on Tuesday mate.

I've checked Sherdog and yes, I am still 70k.... although I have some 'extra condition' and look more like 87k ish!

That's impressive stuff.... what weight are you aiming for?

Not really sure mate, this is all uncharted territory for me.
With a final push I reckon I might get to around 84 kilo.
Started at 135 kilo so well chuffed so far, dropped 14 inches off my waist.
Would love to come up for a week and train with you guys (be gentle) lol
Looking to fight am rules early next year and poss pro if I dont embarrass myself lol.
Spencer Fearon is my boxing coach at present and I am sparring reguarly with him and Anthony Small (painful)

Lets play poker sometime.

Nick.

ps getting any sleep yet?

ReD_mIst
29-10-2007, 09:50 AM
seriously mate, that is very impressive.

what have you been doing to loose the weight? what diet? what excercise?

i'm sure you would be welcomed up here, you could train at Quannum, Colosseum and we could also whizz you over to Tom Blackledge's and Caged Steel..... I'm sure we can squeeze some poker in, either a private game or head over to a casino (not been in ages).

Sleep isn't to bad, but it has really screwed with my training, lukcy if I get two sessions in/week and even then I find I have to miss half the sparing! I'm on leave this week, so going to 'push the boundaries' and see if I can get that back up to 3-4 week.... so I don't have to go any buy some new "bigger" suits.... although, if I carry on this way, I could get into your hand me downs :D

3 meals a day nothing in between

6oz protein
3 cups veg/salad
1 oz carb cooked weight (wholemeal only brown rice, pasta quinoa etc)
1 tsp oil per meal

No Alcohol, sugar or white flour.

Its the low carbs that work.

Did not start training until I was down to 105 kilos as strain would have been too much. To give you some idea of how hard it has been at times, I was following the above regime with NO slipping training boxing twice a week and rehearsing a new show for the West End in which i was dancing full out all day and still only loosing 4-5 pounds per month !!!
The trick is to carry on regardless.
Today I am the heaviest I will ever be again in my life !! Tomorrow I will be lighter and the day after even more so. Nice feeling that.
Nick.

Kaan Sencer
07-11-2007, 11:47 PM
secret weapon eh? if hes so great 5-0 amatuer competition etc, 23 should he really be fighting amatuer, just padding his am record out? iv'e been training half the time hes been training im 17 and am an actual amatuer, not that it matters... im just a bit skeptical

graham cooke
08-11-2007, 09:50 AM
i dont know who you are mate...but you must be answering my post so i can only assume you are marks opponent.

I havnt trained for ages and all i know is that mark (my friend and teammate) is fighting - didnt know who up to now (by putting two and two together). I just put a post up in support, the secret weapon reference was a joke between us at the gym.

All i can do is speak for Grant and say he only makes fair matches that he believes will be a good scrap. I dont recall ever seeing a mismatch on FCFN.

Good luck in your fight... im sure it will be a good show for the spectators.

Good stuff !!!

As for your scepticism.....im not sure what you're implying. Mark IS an amateur who has trained roughly a year. having previous fights at amatuer (most of which incidentally were 1 round no head shot fights in the MLsports trials) isnt "padding" his record. Look at Alex owen... he had quite a few amateur fights. I would say spending some time getting experience at amateur is a good thing for anyone who wants to compete seriously at pro in the future.

in fact im sure this will only be marks 2nd amateur rules inc. headshots fight to be scheduled over two rounds (i assume its two rounds for amateur on fcfn still).

Im not trying to argue with ya, i just want to set you straight as you seem to think you are about to get stitched:

1/ grant, as a decent promoter, wouldnt do this to any fighter on his show
2/ nor would my coach book a fight for one of his fighters that he didnt think would be a good test for them.

keep training hard, see you on the 17th.

ah no worries im not making any accusations just saying a few mistakes might have been made, but hopefully everythings in order, yeah see you on the 17th

edit, thinking about this i may have got a few details confused, i heard he was 5-0 and that does sound quite daunting being my first fight, butyeah look forward to a good match

graham cooke
08-11-2007, 04:55 PM
dont know his exact "record" of all fights off top of my head... could be 5-0. My point is that it is misleading to say that as most of those will be 1 round no headshot fights which isnt anywhere newar the rule set you will be fighting him under.

If i was asked his amateur record i would say 1-0 because no headshots doesnt count imo :D

yeah that is pretty misleading, headshots and Gnp make a big difference

edit: apparently i've been slagging people off "on the internet" now i have as far as i can see shown respect, and wish my opponent all the best of luck, i dont see where this came from, i dont respect fighters who talk a good one, so i would never do it myself

In aincient times the most valuable commodity in the village was water. It was more valuable than Gold itself. A man who was held in the highest regard was voted to be in charge of distributing the water. He kept evreyone healthy and strong for this water gave people life. This man was known as, The WATERMAN.

Kaan you did well and have nothing to be ashamed of dude, half the people on every show go home with a loss.
Make sure you get more amateur experience before going pro dude, I say this to my guys all the time but the butterfly feeling you get before you compete is priceless.
Don`t fight to fill a space on a card for someone, fight because it`ll help with your development.

Kaan try the ZT Amateur torney`s at the ZT fight skool and MMA Universe trials(no heads shots comp).
Experience is everything.
If your were seriously contemplating going PRO surely you have to be competing well at Amateur.
1 win doesn`t exactly mean it`s time to go pro dude.
Once you turn pro there`s no turning back, you`re young and there`s no need to go 0-1 / 0-2 before you start get to grips with the pro ranks.
