Are these results official.

Were they all pro?

Have they be databased yet

What's the full name of the event and other details

Or have these fighter's efforts gone to waste

Ive been thinking about this for a while now. How about instead of having seperate promotion titles throughout scotland, we get all the promoters together to sort out legitamate title for the best scottish fighter in each weight class.

A representative from each of the following would be enough

Cage Kombat
Sportfight Scotland
Giant Kombat
Gladiator

Think thats it. Then we can have titles that mean something to those who hold them.

What you think?

It's a good idea, however as you pointed out it's all dependent on promoters working together.

Who decides when a title is defended and on whose show?
Who decides who fights for a title?
etc

A lot of potential political problems there.

i think the scene in scotland is small enough for potential contenders for titles to make themselves known by their wins.

people talk the talk about working together...but in reality....

are there enough fighters across the weight classes in scotland for that to work?
how many pro bantam weight fighters are there in scotland for instance?
i'm sure there are more, but i can only think of one off hand - maybe have to be british titles.

of the top of my head

63kg funny scottish weight- Marty Nic, Mark Connor, John Cullen, Scotty McGowan, Colin Smythe, Danny Donnelly,

65kg- sean o neil, James Doolan, Darren Clark, paul deas,

70kg- Graham Turner, Jamie McKenzie, Anthony Thompson, Danny Gray, Dave Marlow, Gareth Hinds, Edgar

77kg- Dean Caldwell, Rich McLarty, Chris Carmichael, John Quinn

84kg- Andy Snape, James Mair, Jason Simpson, Pawel, Scotty

Thats without the guys from dundonald head hunters and willie mccrackens cause i dont know them as well, feel free to add to the list then we can speculate who would be potential champions.

love the way everyone always either mis-spells edgar's surname, or just leaves it out completely, lol.

not all those guys fight pro, might end up with the same two guys fighting all the time - maybe like tito and ken...

most of them will have aspirations of fighting pro eventually id imagine

it would be good if you could unite all the smaller show titles together. Wasnt there suppose 2 be like a group thing of some promotions in the uk. The only two names i remember was cagewarriors and house of pain. it would be good if you could unite or if the was like an official uk mma title which could be defended on all shows. But i doubt it will work

You could also have Jordan Smith in at 77kg he is doing very well at semi pro right now....

I like the idea but the practicality of running this could lead to problems - most obvious ones being:

Belts at Pro only or SP also?
At what shows are the titles held and why?
Who decides the match ups ie contendership? Based on records - is this fair?
Some rules differ (not this again) on different promotions ie Sportsfight SP (knees allowed); Cage Kombat SP (open hand striking on ground)
Some promotions are held in a cage, some in a ring (this may not be an issue to some but you know where I am going?)

At least with one promotion, the format is always the same. Much easier to manage. Although I still like the idea of a legitamite Scottish champ at each weight. Sometimes, we get forgotten about up here - but validating Scottish champions, well, that's a good way forward.

A lot of work is my final thoughts but I support it....

I feel titles should be for Pro bouts only.

That way the fans will get excited once they relise title fights are between scotlands top athletes in each weight class.

Still a good idea but whether its workable is another matter.
