John Will BJJ seminar hosted by Combat Base - May 4th

Combat Base NE, based in Northumberland, England, will be hosting a BJJ seminar with one of the finest BJJ coaches on the planet today, John Will. John is one of the original BJJ 'Dirty Dozen' (http://onthemat.com/wiki/index.php/BJJ_Dirty_Dozen) and anyone who has had any exposure to his BJJ tuition will fully understand how excellent he is.

The seminar will take place on 4th May 2008, venue TBC. Plan is to work Gi, but should there be enough interest, may split it to do some No Gi/MMA stuff. I'll post further details as the weeks progress, but please do not miss out on this opportunity - this guy is truly awesome, and places are limited!

Drew organised this seminar for us last year and I am looking forward to this one too. John Will is the biz. He's down to earth very approachable and amazingly gifted. We all took more than we hoped away from this last year, and I defo aint missing it this year. Combatbase are bringing in some top tier guys for seminars lately so will keep you posted on whos next :-)

I first met John in LA in '99 as a total newbie to BJJ and the guy really is a treasure trove on all martial arts, especially in India, he's got a new book out, which you can find on his site, well worth a read!

Attended his last seminar at Phil Wright's, the way he takes a technique and strips it down, puts him way out at the top.

John Will was my first ever instructor. Started training with him when I was 16 back in Australia. I'll definitely be there for the seminars, can't wait! :-)

Hiya folks,

Just to give you an update on this. John is going to be with us for 2 days now Sunday 4th June and Monday 5th June. Both will start at 1100 @ Phoenix MMA in Newcastle (Big, big thanks to Iain and the Phoenix guys for this). Plan is to work Gi on the Sunday and No gi on the Monday. John will be hanging around with us so will be on hand to chat and take advice from (his BJJ stories are absolutely awesome!!!). Price is as before, £40 per day, however if you wish to do both days, the price is a very reasonable £60. Drinks will be provided on both days and a technique summary DVD will be included also (of the day you attend). Please don't miss the chance to train with this BJJ legend - he is absolute class!!!
