I live in South East London and I'm after starting Judo
Does anyone have details about Wandsworth Lightning.
Do they cater for Adult beginners?
If so what are the training times?

Thanks in advance.

You should start at The Budokwai in Chelsea.

It is 15 minutes further for you than Lightening.

The Budokwai is where the instructors from Lightening train.

The Judo sessions there also have a lot of BJJ guys training. So during Ne Waza
(groundwork) you will get to roll with both Judo guys and bjj guys.

Roger Gracie trains regularly at The Bud.

You need to ask yourself what are you wanting to learn judo for. If it is for ettiquette, formal techniques (including kata's) i would recommend a BJC club. If you are looking for a competitive outlook with regards to randori (sparring) and competition based technique i would look towards a BJA club. The BJA club finder is very useful. The more successful clubs (competition wise )will accomodate you but probably throw you in at the deep during sessions i.e 10 mins to learn break falls then away you go in to the big wide world of judo. A more recreational club would probably spend more time with a beginner

I can vouch for both both the budokwai & dartford as being excellent clubs

Dirty dick (or anyone else), do you know anything about Stratford Judo Club in East London, and if so, would you recommend it?

I'm a judo beginner with only 2 months under my belt from Norwich Premier Judo Club (which is a very good club btw)

Cheers

Don't know that club personally - so cant really comment. Just looked on their website though & it appears that there is at least some structure to the club
