I think you'd be hard pushed to find a judo technique that doesn't require grabbing your opponent.

There are some judo throws that cant be executed in mma - it just depends who is executing the throw for the others

im a bit confused by the "grabbing" part?

if you transfer the handles that you use in bjj - you can do lots of moves in NoGi.

ie instead of grabbing the sleeve you grab the wrist

youve got to grab your opponent to do anything? as you cant strike in judo so that just leaves grabbing and throwing - and in order o throw you gotta grab?

I still dont understand the question

Hi!

The vast majority of judo throws, and indeed groundwork, can be executed without needing to grip (although to officially score, you need to have a grip to control the throw at the point of impact.)

Hooks work just as well.

I regularly do entire judo sessions without gripping.

How can you throw someone without grabbing them? you have to hold onto someone dont you? do you mean that you dont hold the gi? just body parts?

Smiler

Correct!

Use your hooks...trap the arm...grab the wrist...control the back of the head...

You don't need the gi...

Very Good idea smiler...

but one would have to be a very proficent judoka to undertake such a task, would he not, and not a part timer like myself?..:)

Not necessarily - just need to practice and drill as you would do any other technique

I think that every Judo technique will requite you grab your opponent in one way or other.

Indeed, you do have to grab, but you don't need to grab the gi...

You don't need a gi to execute the vast majority of judo moves...

Gripping is the term for getting a hold of the gi (top judoka make a lot of gripfighting generally)

Many judo (and bjj) moves don't rely on the gi, and a hooked neck or wrist work just as well as a purchase point

In response to flameboy - I dont necessarily think you HAVE to grab (gi or body part) however it is limiting and understand where your coming from.
Are you going to a good club Dutchman?
