I think Dean tried to get someone to start a session in Chester... not sure if it ever took off.

You could travel to Wolfslair, which is on the Wirral and pretty close... probably about as far as 90% of people travel to train MMA

Sorry, yeah, Widnes... I got my 'Pseudo-Scouse' places mixed up.

Still an OK distance to travel to train though.

If I remotely lived anywhere near the wolfslair I would go train there Mario Sukata is a top MMA coach/fighter Tony Quigley is a top boxing coach Dave Jackson is a quality Thai boxing coach

wolfslair is prob one of the best teams in europe!

Mike bisping, Paul Kelly and that's just 2 of the top names that fight out of their!.

18.7 miles from Chester 28 min in the motor!

Bear in mind though d tec ya don t get the use of the striking coaches unless ya train with the fight team and last i heard that was invitational only, so i d phone and check first before just turning up there.

yes the fight team is by invitation or trile only but mario takes public classes in mma no gi and bjj and dave jackson now takes a public mma class with a lot of emphasis on the stand up game and clinch work adapted for mma its very good infact.

also tony, dave, and mario are all available for one to one private tution

Leeroys the man to ask about the classes as he trains there so any questions ask him.

Sorry only just seen this thread.

There are no MMA gyms in Chester Kaobon run a Muay Thai class on a Tuesday 8.30pm, Thursday 7.30pm at the Northgate arena, please note though that these claases are not run by Colin Heron, but by Tam Chomboson, they also run a class on a Monday and Wednesday, which is mainly sparring (run by Dave Newbrook), which is at Heavy Hitters gym both classes are 8.30pm.

There is a class in Wrexham on a Thursday at the NEWI sports centre this is only a wrestling class though however if you turn up there and speak to Ashley the main coach, he'll give you directions to the submission class they run on a Monday. Ashley and co are a great bunch of guys. Ashley is a monster on the mat.

You also have the Wolfslair in Widnes, and Next Generation in Liverpool, there is also a class in Birkenhead on a Wednesday. I would reccomend any of these gyms.

I have restarted my training this year, although not been able to get to as many classes as I like due to work, I am going to Birkenhead tonight, and then flying back to Chester for the Thai class. I'll be going to Next Generation tomorrow night also.

You are more then welcome to hitch a lift with me if you want. Just drop me a PM. Also I have begged and moaned at a number of people to teach in Chester, although not for a while but I will start again.

Paul Kelly is at Kaobon but there are plenty of other UFC and top pros there too. Likewise with Team Kaobon also in Liverpool which I can't recomend enough, great set of people who make you feel welcome.
