Just off to the le tournoi de Paris for Judo. The years toughest event but not the biggest medal available this year (given the olympics)
With some players desprately needing olympic qualification points & will the higher quota of french and japanese fighters in categories this wont fail to be an explosive tournament.

sheit, that's this weekend already? hope it goes well for the brit fighters, esp Winnie, i see he has Aschwanden in his pool. Mesbah and Huizinga are tough too.

bit harsh for millar isnt it, even if he qualifies the spot wont they just give it to Fallon?

Sarah Clark has taken a 5th but nothing else for GB so far. Euan Burton, Winnie and the other heavier players are on today.

Burton took bronze.

Frenchman Teddy Riner beat Schlittler in his pool, Inoue in the semi and Mikhaylin in the final, not bad for a 19 year old!

Wow, some great judo all weekend - Riner is a monster & won the event (however it appeared that the refs were influenced by the partizan crowd)
Burton fought really well to earn bronze. Clarke Bryant & Rogers 5th.

I went for a meal with Rogers last night & friends of ours, we ended up in a tiny thai restaurant with the japanese coaches & Korean team. I left the other mere mortals such as Nakamura in peace.
