this topic crops up every so often. Roy Wood the coach at Aspull does know catch / Lancashire, but sadly no longer seems to teach it. There is a club in Atherton whose name escapes me but I have heard plenty good things about them, they teach it , a chap called Jack I think. There used to be a club in Bolton too where Gracie Barra Manc was based, but again don't know if they still teach it.

atherton submission fighting that would be. we are currently in process of moving to a new gym. jack mountford and darren morris are our main coaches, the knowledge of these two alone is unreal

v10,

juts following on from TheLaw's post, the old Gracie Barra club that used to train at the old bolton wrestling club has now moved more towards the town centre of Bolton in Kai Mans academy
http://combatbasebolton.blogspot.com Carl teaches BJJ & MMA

Theres also Academy of Combat in Bolton, they do alot of Sambo, Sub Wrestling and traditional Ju Jitsu. Also run Thai and Boxing classes which are superb. www.academyofcombat.com

I train at both and can vouch for them (for what its worth lol)

Theres also Colleseum in Leigh, there an MMA gym I believe so they would no doubt be another good place to check out. Check out the "Northern Cartel" section of this forum and they post on there

PM me if you need any details

Thanks people for all the info your help has been invaluable. I will try have a look at some of those gyms including Combat and Academy. I called the Atherton Submission guys and was told they had disbanded.

i've met a few lads who train at mel's in wigan, assume it's the same place.

i'm pretty sure you'll draw a blank looking for somewhere teaching catch.;)

if you want a submission club in wigan, i'd head to tom blackledge.

Fucking hell Ian, can't believe that report was way back in 2003!! That was one hot day IIRC, that Japanese guy knew his stuff didn't he? Won't mention how we got in with the juniors  :D

When Roy goes that's it for Catch, I do hope some one can get his stuff onto a DVD, the stuff he showed us after the class was brutal!!
