Hi everyone
My last thread said the show was 31st may .Due to venue problems it will now be 1st june so everyone please post your reviews of our previous shows here :D

Rules of the kickboxing Game

There are 3 main games available you can play.

1.Full Contact (shiny pants kickboxing, boxing + kicks above belt)
2. Low kick ( normal kickboxing rules where leg kicks are allowed too but no knees or clinchwork.)
3.Oriental Rules ( K-1 style , knees and limited clinch allowed)

Here is how things are with the Low kick/Oriental rules.

Raw Novice (or older fighters) = 3x1.5 mins WITH Leather shin and insteps.
Novice (with 1 or 2 fights experience ) = 3x2 mins with shin and insteps again.

C Class= 3x2 mins without shinpads.
B Class = will be 5x2mins

Oriental Rules will be same as above with the exception of KNEES.
Limited clinchwork will be the order of the day, if you want extended clinchwork then theres always thaiboxing shows you can go to.

Novice & C class= NO Knees to the head. B Class= Knees to the head are allowed.
Leather shin and instep pads are only used in Novice and C Class Bouts. C Class can choose to fight without the shinpads if both camps agree.

I have a 67kg fighter hes the skinny guy with the black trousers who KO'd his opponent with the perfect right cross (do you remember that one?) but hes not going to be available as he has exams for university then.

I would quite like to do it at some point, I know you said you had thought about it :) No dis-respect meant to Brent there, he is a wickid guy and if any thing it is a compliment, I know out of all the guys my weight he is one of the best on your promotion and I think that it would be good to fight him and prove myself a bit.

Anyway, as you know, not back for a good while yet, just opening the prospect for the future. Good luck to Brent this time round, I hope you win man :)

Aw man, I can't even describe it... I am so thankful I did this, every single day I wake up smiling and enjoying life. I know it sounds lazy and I know it sounds pathetic, but I hated the UK, I hated getting up for work every morning, I hated working and talking to wankers on the phone all day, I hate most of the British public who are un-sociable fuckers (during 9-5).

You come to this country and every single person whether 5 or 95 smile at you and say hello (Sa-Wat-Di Kharp) and if you are in a restuarant on your own they'll come over and just start talking and ask you about what you are doing in Koh Samui, etc, etc. No one hurries and no one is out to get everything they can get from you, the people are so nice here...

The women after bout 8pm are nightmares, I'll PM you some stories Phill ;) I've been dragged into a bar by 6 girls all dressed in school uniforms, I had a girl in the Adidas shop right in the town centre follow me in the changing rooms... Sounds unbelieveable and that I know, and I am sure people will think I am making it up (I would if it was the other way round) but just to take fun of my self... I'll tell you that more than once I've had a lady boy try dragging me fuck knows where, lol.

I am training any where from 3 - 5 hours a day at the moment, I went on a two hour run yesterday in 36 degree heat... It was MAD!!! We got lost to fuck and after the two hours was up we gave up and got a ride back on a pick up truck... imagine 20 people in a pick up truck... ha.

Today was Thai new year and literally the whole country goes out with buckets and water pistols soking each other, I walked through the town centre and literally got plastered with water, flour, everything...

Ahhh, I'm gonna shut up now, but I'll maybe give you a call off Skype at some point Phil and talk properly in a few weeks. Hope you're doing well man and gutted I won't get to see you fight =(

Ah, and the training is nuts, I've trained at a few different places, but I am currently training with the head trainer from the Asian Contender, which is awesome...

One place I trained and when I didn't block a kick correctly the guy hooked me and he was getting harder and harder until I swear he nearly knocked me out... I don't remember much for about 5-10 minutes after he hit me except I got up and walked over to a bag and then I remember hitting the bag and having some guy saying 'dont you fucking stop', lol.

Training is really good though:
15 minutes skipping
15 minutes pads
30 minute technique
30 minutes sparring
30 minutes pads
15 minutes skipping

Is a typical lesson, you do that twice a day. In the morning you do half an hour to an hour run before you start. I am fighting at the end of next month, so quite excited about that =)

Key to the initials,
AFK= Ali Freestyle Kickboxing (the host club)
SDF= Self Defence Federation
BFU= Barnsley Fight Unit

FC= Full contact (a style of kickboxing that doesnt allow low kicks)
Low kick = A style of kickboxing that allows kicks anywhere (apart from joints and groin but disallows clinchwork and knees)
K-1 = A style of kickboxing that allows same as low kick but clinch is limtied to 3 seconds.
