The International Fighting Championship tryouts will be held at Richard Steele Boxing Club located at 2475 W. Cheyenne Ave. 110 North Las Vegas, NV 89032. Richard Steele, who is considered one of the world’s most prolific referees of all time, owns the establishment.
Rico White, President/CEO of the International Fighting Championship, LLC (IFC), and My MMA Network had this to say, "This is a great opportunity for up and coming fighters to showcase their abilities and talents before a panel of their peers and world renowned experts in the field of MMA. This is also a chance to be awarded a fight contract and sponsorship. All participants will be tested by a panel of world class martial arts experts, such Kevin Randleman, Shonie Carter and Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Dr Alonzo Jones while being seen by major corporate sponsors."
Applications are being accepted for our open invitation tryouts to be held in Las Vegas, April 26 2008, however space will be limited. Professional and experienced amateur male and female fighters who would like to turn professional will participate in various exercises that test a wide array of skills including speed, power, coordination, ground skills, personality, flexibility, and knowledge of the sport. They will also engage in 2-minute sparring sessions with one another. After the tryouts, some of the fighters will be offered a contract to fight for the International Fighting Championship, LLC and some fighters will be awarded with sponsorship packages from IFC, LLC corporate sponsors.
