I just wondered who can cook good food here?
I can make half decent food in the kitchen, just wondered who else is capable as good food is important!

The best thing in my kitchen is a George Forman Grill. Does excellent chicken and Steaks in no time. Best thing i've ever bought for the kitchen. Anyone agree?
Juts started using Quorn, was quirt suprised how nice it tasted :-)
Im not a bad cook, but I guess everyone will say that lol

I love cooking.
Last night I made honey & sesame chicken with rice, garlic mushrooms and peas.
I love making mad sandwiches. Last one of note was; stir-fried some turkey mince with some herbs/spices & garlic then chucked in a load of extra mature cheddar right at the end. Also stir-fried some mushrooms. Then stuck all of that in two baps with ketchup. Tasted lush.

Evryone raves about the george foremans, I dunno if the one we has was shit but when I put chicken breast on it tended to badly burn the outer most layer and cook the inside fairly normally?

They're not great, just convenient. I don't get how the fat running off is such an awesome thing... the fat drips down into the tray until a grill so what's the difference?
I stir-fry pretty much everything, it's easy to add different ingredients and it's quick. Also much easier to clean than a George Foreman!

So I wasn't doing it wrong then? That's what they do - burn the outside and cook the rest normally? Think I'll stick to my oven if that's the case!

Cooking isn't exactly rocket science. Meat and two veg is a piece of piss and if you can read and interpret instructions you can cook anything else you want from a recipe book or whatever

I've never burnt anything with it but the outside of meat is usually cooked more compared to the middle than a standard grill, yeah.

Hi!
I cook from fresh every night, and find it really relaxing. I tend to do quick stuff during the week, and then more complicated longer stuff at the weekend.
I buy only meat from my regular butcher, the award winning Woods Butchers in Farnborough, as the quality is first class and my mate Rob owns it and gives me a good deal, keeps me some good cuts, has some great marinades, lets me try freebies he's cooking for the lads out back, gives great cooking tips, and always can get me in something different.
I buy organic, sustainable, British, free range, ethical too. It tastes better, in my opinion, and leaves me with a clear conscience.
My favourite recipes have to come from either Bill Granger, who's recipes always taste so 'alive', 'fresh' and are very healthy...or Nigel Slater, who's the master of the quick fix!
I subscribe to 'Delicious' and 'Good Food' mags too, great source of new stuff. I also find it relaxing to read cook books...learning...even my manager Jeroen who is a great cook has a cook book on the market, lots of good stuff in there! Tom, Jeroen found out that I rolled my own pasta and used some wooden rolling pin techniques to make my tagliatelle, and brought me a pasta machine over for me when he came over for my last Cage Rage! Top fella! Brought me a mushroom brush too!!
Mind you, sometimes my missus thinks I'm a bit mad...comes down and finds me making a stack of jams and compotes on a sunday morning...and I always push her for a mark out of 10 for what I make...
Yep, I'm a foodie!

Love to cook. Like Gary, I cook from fresh for me and the girlfriend every night, keep it relatively simple during the week but like to try more complicated, and new stuff at the weekend when ive got more time.
Really enjoy learning new techniques, and using new ingredients.
I am(probably quite arrogantly) applying for Masterchef lol

Kind of gilding the lily no? Nice piece beef like that doesn't really need messing with.

Beef like that doesnt need the salty, smokey flavour of prosciutto too over powering imo.

very arrogantly judging by the confusion between ham and bacon.

Regardless of whether it's prociutto or pancetta being used its still more than a piece of meat like that needs imo.
I love cooking, I'm pretty good at it but sounds like there's some people on here who are better.

Ooh ooh... something that's nice and really easy to make. Garlic Mushroom. Get about 6 mushrooms (3 PP), chop 'em up, add some garlic butter and simmer in a pan for 15/20 minutes. Bloody nice!

With a Cadbury's digestive for pud?:) :) Are you still eating them?
I had a packet left over from last week and resisted starting on it (as I was watching my weight) but I gave into temptation and have been eating them over the weekend. It's okay though as I'm pretty much at the weight I wanna be now.

We have a Bavarian cake shop in the village which is quite nice. The best black forest gateaux is obviously from Bavaria. Very 80's, Luke, do you like prawn cocktail as well?
lol, indeed...I'll eat prawns as a starter if I'm out at a restaurant.

Hah, I usually have a steak. Never have chicken (as I eat it all the time anyway!!). I like Steak Rossini but I'll have whatever.
