who wears it and has it had the "effect", or is it just pure marketing hype?
any experiences?:)

If you drink a bottle of Lynx aftershave, it makes your other half look like the girls in their adverts.

ginandtonic

but does it make you look like the male model in the advert?

Kieran

In the dark, yes.

I'm very sure, if you close your eyes and look at a picture of him, then close your eyes and look at a picture of me, you won't be able to tell the difference.

is this performance of photographic similarity to be made in the dark?

Yes please. Whilst very, very drunk. Blindfolded.

Lynx didn't work for me, but I found Rohipnol did the trick

Yes Kieran i think that gives the game away regards your fantasist mind;) conclusion you probably look more like the gorilla in the cadbury's advert than the male model from the lynx advert. sorry kieran, but i will hear no more.
what i really want to know is does it get you in there with the ladies as the they so blatantly suggest and what do you think of the smell and the price/can?:)

Kieran
24-04-2008, 04:05 PM
I actually stunt doubled for the gorilla in the Cadbury's advert at a book signing in Ilfrecombe once. True story.

Lynx, from my experience, doesn't get you in there with the ladies as it smells a bit on the cheap side. If I looked like the model in the advert though, I could cover myself in horse shit and still probably be in there. The Lynx can's quite pretty and reasonably priced, but I think it's worth spending a bit more on spelling a bit nicer.

ginandtonic
24-04-2008, 04:23 PM
is that really a true story, i cant tell now after the other stories?

i think its false advertising and gives false hopes, plus they spend a lot on marketing this brand and reflects in the market price.
what would you choose intead? something like chanel allure?

Kieran
24-04-2008, 04:26 PM
No, it's not a true story at all. I'm too slightly built to look like a gorilla.

I don't think it's false advertising, if anybody's dumb enough to think that just wearing a cheap deodorant's going to make them irresistible to the opposite sex then they have no right owning a television set.

In all honesty, I normally use an odourless deodorant. Otherwise it just ends up clashing with my aftershave.

I use Africa, I would prefer Atlantis but I cant find it ANYWHERE! Anyone who comes across it, send me like 5 cans. Seriously.

And no, it doesnt turn me into a babe magnet, not even working out 5 days a week and having the best personality in the WORLD could do that :)

Other than Lynx, it has to be Joop or Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet

I wear Lynx Dry stick, I usually consider Lynx a bit chavvy and wouldnt ever purchase the spray, but the dry roll on is superb

I've started using male perfumes. I've got Gucci 'Envy' and Jean Paul Gautier 'Le Homme'. I must say it helps when selling and helps when chatting up the women ;)

Aftershave contains left parfume than EDT and doesnt last as long.

JPG is one of my fave fragrances, along with Clinque Happy - Very fresh and clean smell

i just dont understand why you come to an mma forum to ask about lynx, low fat hot chocolate, what colour curtains people have got in their rooms or whether kylie and jason should get back together etc etc

and every thread is always a pointless question - what about this, what if that

i really dont understand at all, i'm not just being sarky. I know its called 'general discussion' but come on.

seriously there must be better places for all that. hasnt heat magazine got a forum or summat?

clinique happy for girls (edit: women even) is probably my all time favourite perfume

EDT is more concentrated than aftershave and therefore more expensive per ml, correct?

Try smelling coffee beans in between scents, its meant to clear the last smell away or something!! most good department stores have them in little trays scattered around.
I got my man some carolina herrera 212 and thats a really sexy scent.

meanwhile in poor mans country The Perfume Store will have tabs end trays you can use to clear your nasal passage!

Correction young Jedi... it was your knee on my shin. It's fine now, I was limping like a stoned dog the day after. You'll soon feel the wrath of my low kicks once again! *shakes fist*

Back to the topic, what's that over-priced Issey Miyake like? I stick to the ones I mentioned earlier but would fancy a change... my friend had a Paul Smith one that was niiiice...

G&T has reduced us meat eating hunter gatherers to discussing fragrances... it'll be which boxer shorts fit better next... which would be the YSL ones that Sports Soccer used to stock.

Issey Miyake is popular with the wife like, personally I think it smells like piss, I got a snide bottle a few year back and it has put me off for life, its smell is quite unique though and like I said the ladies like that one I think mate!

Ooooh might need to splash out then, only thing that puts me off is the fact that alot of people wear it and I dont fancy smelling the same as every other guy walking down the street! Then again Joop is used by EVERYONE! I've not yet come across anyone who uses Ultraviolet.
