Diane,
I know you and respect you and your acheivements.
I am confussed and i genuinely hope you can help me out with this.
"I'm 49kg right now, but looking for fights u48kg."
Does this mean that you will not be defending your previously accquired Gage Gladiators Under 50kg Tiltle?
Thanks for helping me work this out.

Kieron originally had my weight at 50kg. I asked him to change it because that's not my weight. Yes I will be defending the Cage gladiators title at under 50kg. However, as this is a list to help promoters find fighters, I would prefer to be promoting myself at my weight.

It is perfectly acceptable for fighters to opperate at two wieghts, provided they are happy to defend the belt at the established weight.
Diane should be commended at the number of fights she has had to taken outside of her natural weight catagory

Yes, but the technicque used my Karl is called a "Positive sandwich", which is where you ask a difficult question or point out something negative, by wrapping it with positive comments.
For example.

I really like what you bring to the Cagewarriors forum, you are a really valued poster.
Unfortunately, your last post was utter shit.
Thanks for helping me understand what Karl was trying to say
Aaron
Karl is a very intelligent man, who knows about psychology, so I am sure he knows all about technicques such as positive sandwiches

Aaron.
you post on a lot of theads about female MMA for someone who has a self professed lack of interest in it.
I agree entirely with your two comments regards Diane.
Simply trying to establish some facts as we have a female fighter who can fight at 50kg.

LMAO at the idea of Karl pretending to be nice for the sake of diplomacy :D
Trust me, if Karl says he respects someone, then he means it.

Karl, I love you :D
I don't have a lack of interest in female MMA per se, more a lack of interest because of the lack of fighters. The comprehensive list above consists of 9 pro fighters in the UK/IRL. There are at lest three wieght catagories, so maybe 2-3 possible match ups for each fighter... and ******** West has no one of her weight, so she is arguablly the UK's best Female MMA fighter in her weight catagory... despite a 1-0-0 record.
The female sport needs 4-5 time the fighters it has in order to be a serious sport, with the exception of 1-2 fighters, such as Rosi.
Could we move in together and spend the night spooning?

I never said pretending. The use of that technique is in order to put someone at ease. It's a technique of value to the person using it, so it's not being nice at all.
Anyway, this is really off topic. The only reason I mentioned it is because Jay came on, didn't comment about anything to do with the topic, just singled out my comment and tried to make a smart remark about it.
oh no, i've been foiled by rudimentary psychology again

I was doing so when you contacted me via private message, (initially asking whether I just had a "fan interest" in female MMA....)
Then you basically called me a liar and said you didn't believe my fighter could make 50kgs after I'd told you that she could and would.
We don't really have anything to talk about, now we've established the facts, why don't we both just deal with the promoters?

We have a girl who's 1-0, normally fights -60kgs, but we would be willing to give a bit of weight away.

I am happy to leave it at that but remember, my last question in our pm`s was "who has your girl fought at 50kg?" and you didnt reply.
Di has now fought everyone available at under 50kg and as far as I am aware up to now your girl has actually agreed to fight one of those girls but didnt make the weight when it came down to the weigh in so the fight didnt take place.
I didn`t call you a liar and am happy to post the content of our pm`s on here.
Diane is the Cage Gladiators Champion and there are a couple of girls out there at 49kg that both have fought her before she won the belt. I suggest you go and challenge both of those two first and after that we will talk to the promoters but not before.
In the mean time I will be doing my job and looking for fights abroad for Di

Got to say that that is a fair comment. Title shots have to be earnt.... I'm sure Karl will support that stance and get his fighter earning the shot at one of Dianes belts :)

Lisa will fight any one of the "contenders" or the champion for that matter. She hasn't fought (in MMA) at 50kgs, simply because nobody will fight her. The only fight we've been able to get was giving away several kilos in weight and a lot of experience.
Di has now fought everyone available at under 50kg and as far as I am aware up to now your girl has actually agreed to fight one of those girls but didnt make the weight when it came down to the weigh in so the fight didnt take place.
Except one, obviously.
The "weight issue" that you refer to was merely a communication one between the promoters and the fighters, nothing to do with Lisa's ability to make the weight, which she could have done easily. I'm sure, having done your research, you will already know this. The only reason the fight wasn't rescheduled was because the girl in question refused to take it.
Now, can we have your list of better qualified contenders at that weight, then maybe we can cross them off one by one as Lisa beats them, or they refuse to fight her.
This is nothing personal to any parties involved, just the business.

This is getting repetative.
I don't see the point of the match. Realistically, the title has been at <50kg purely because the pool of contenders was small and no one was cutting at the time. Every single woman who has competed for the title so far should be fighting at a much lower weight category, if it existed.
I'm pretty sure that Lisa would be likely to beat Di purely on strength if she made the cut and if Di's manager was prepared to put her in that situation. I think it would a boring match because of the size difference and wouldn't do anything for female MMA.
If there's a pool of competitors appearing who can make 50kg with a cut, maybe it's time that a lower weight category is introduced. It seems as if the majority of active competitors in the UK would be in that category.
It may mean that Di would have to retire her title at 50kg but, at the end of the day, she's fighting at a lower weight and is looking for fights abroad for a realistic weight category. I don't think she has anything to prove in the UK, which, if I recall correctly, was the same reasoning that SBG's team used for not accepting a fight for Rosi with Cheri Buck a while back.

If you hold a title at a weight, it means that you are prepared to fight anyone who is eligeable for that title. Period.
Currently Di is holding the only -50kgs title in the UK, so she needs to either step up and defend it, or (as you suggest) relinquish it and fight for a title at a lower weight.
It's interesting that you mention Rosi, because she also fought out of her weight bracket as the Cagewarriors title was set at 60kgs in order for her to get fights originally. As a result, she found herself defending it against a significantly larger challenger (Dina van den Hooven). At the time, most people who knew the female MMA scene thought Dina would win, but she was a legitimate and credible challenger - so we took the match.

Absolutly agree!
If a fighter can make the weight - and we know Lisa can - why not take the fight? The title should either be defended or relinquished (is that the word i'm looking for?) Either way if you hold a title (whatever it may be ) You should be prepared to be challenged...!!?
As for the really crappy and quite frankly below the belt comment at Lisa ''Not making weight for a previous fight'' - well, to be honest i wouldn't usually fart in the direction of such uneducated babble, but on this occasion will say that if i had stepped onto a pair of cheep Argos scales fresh out of the packet the probability of me weighing my usual weight would be somewhat distorted.....
Nuff said - flame on....

I think that was the point. As far as Lisa Newton's team was concerned, Lisa Higo could have been further over the weight limit than the scales showed, so they took the decision not to take the fight, which was their prerogative.

That is absolutely irrelevant to this discussion. We aren't talking about the rights and wrongs of Lisa N's decision (I think that has already been done at some length), we are pointing out that it should in no way reflect on Lisa H, or her ability to make weight.

in the same way Rosi fighting/beating the heavier Dina was boring and didnt do anything for female mma....
maybe the weight cat for the 'title' should be changed to 'whatever the champ sets it at' :D
....and just to add...Ais' walking weight is about 58kgs....her last 2 opponents came in at about 62kgs....neither got out of the first round
