Couple this with using your chin to block punches and you'll have an all-round game.

I've seen that before - it's what Rorian Graice teaches his beginners.

I was taught the same pass years and years ago when I visited the Gracie Academy in Torrance. Never used it in competition - and guess what - I never will...

This pass used to be part of traditional GJJ, right up until one of Rolls Gracie's Judo students introduced the triangle. From that moment, anyone who attempted that pass got triangled quickly.

It's still taught in some BJJ clubs, mainly to teach the principle of movement and stacking your oppnent but I definately wouldn't use it myself in competition - maybe in sparring occasionally against a beginner but definately not against an experienced fighter.

That's almost as good as my Superman guard pass.

Like Jogs says - that's pretty much the basic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu guard pass. Of course it is really only designed to work on opponents who have zero knowledge of how to fight on the ground.

If you have no neck you can't get triangled. Get a neck transplant. Sorted.

That's not serious though, is it? I know the Gracie tapes taught this move and I just figured they released those tapes at the time because it would make it easier for them to win.

If done correctly the one arm in one out pass can be very effective, joe moreira is known for doing it and he does it on people of all levels white to blackbelts. But dont do it like the guy in the video unless you want to get triangled lol.

There are modifications to that tech....elbow in and make a posture and pressure but it works ONLY with the Gi , it is very risky... and I would have to put it in the white man JIU-JITSU bracket myself.... strong chance y gona get triangled or armlocked. lol!
