Newbie question.
Looking for submission wrestling or Brazilian Ju Jitsu.
There are a few places named, but where do people recommend:-
Bolton Catch,
Combat Base Bolton,
Lagarto Bolton,
Academy of Applied Combat.
Is it just what suit's the individual?

Why not try them all and see which one you like best, I run Combat Base Bolton, all the clubs mentioned have something to offer you, all do gi and no gi training, there isn't no Lagarto Bolton anymore tho. Trevor Roberts at AAC is a legend in the grappling world is well worth a visit and they also do sambo there as well, another great grappling art.

Who do I contact regarding Academy of Applied Combat?
There is a Gracie Barra club under Lagarto just off the a666 as iv seen the banner outside a building near there, they are probably a new club, does anyone post from that team that can confirm who the instructor is.

The banner off the A666 is my old GB banner been meaning to take it down for ages, that building is now Combat Base Bolton mate, least you know where that is!

That makes it much easier to find. Thank you for the link as well I will take your advice and try all the places but you have been most helpful.
Trained at Academy of Applied Combat. They have the highest grades in the area and are very friendly. Will try the others in time but happy to stay at this club. Thanks again.

Grades in what? BJJ? Kung Fu? Judo? Tiddly winks?
In submission grappling styles. There is a link in this thread where you can look at the grades and awards they have, you wont go far wrong training there.

Im happy at my current gym thank you, is this Trev Roberts gym? if so trev is very knowledgeable and you will learn loads training with him.

Yeah Widge it's Trevor's club.
Mdea, he's my Trad JJ and Sambo coach, what he dont know about grappling aint worth knowing about, stick with him you'll learn shit loads and tell him Carl Fisher says hello!

It is and he is a nice guy to talk to.
Fish face I mentioned your club to him and he says he knows you and for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu you are the best to go to, I will call round once my fitness and knowledge is a bit better.
