We've been trialling a specialist printer that will allow us to print on BJJ and Judo Gi (along with other martial arts uniforms). Thought people might like to see the samples.

We will be able to print any logo supplied in a Hi-Res format, including Club Logos or Individuals artwork.

No set ups, no minimum run.

Cannot do Rash Guards and Shorts though, only works at the moment on cotton based materials.

For Blue/Black Gi, we would print a transfer and heat press.

Max dims? Approx price? Artwork colour numbers/format? Durability?

Looks like excellent resolution and representation. No min run is the best thing you could have said!

Well, good news is we will be able to print onto Black and Blue BJJ Gi, as well as t shirts, polos, hoodies, you name it! Same deal, one offs, no set ups, no minimums! Even supply your own artwork! Jpeg, EPS, PDF, PNG, any recognizable format really. Ideally 200 DPI minimum, and on a transparent background. What the machine sees it prints!

Our print resolution is upto 1440 dpi!! But it's only as good as the artwork supplied!

We can always help with images sent to ensure you get what you want!

Costs.....these are rough, but near enough:

Max size of print is around A3 size.

Cost of, say, a full back or front print would be around £8-£12 on white, or £12-£15 on Blue/Black. The difference in price is purely due to the process that we have to go through to print the black and blue, or any dark fabric!

We can also do a back and front print, extra would work out at around £4-£5.

T shirts will be around £13-£15 for white, and £17 ish for Black/Dark Colours, that includes the t shirt, printing, just a little extra for the postage, we can use your own design, photo, or we'll have stock images.

It may sound expensive to some, but remember, these are custom printed, FULL COLOUR, even the stock images. We will print to order, from 1 off upwards.

When it's up and running we'll let everyone know. A new website will also go live around October where you will be able to choose the clothing, either printed or embroidered, upload your own image, pic the position, and order it!

These prices are not final, once we have all the final costs, we will firm these up. Naturally we've been cautious, so these may well be tweaked downwards.

At the end of the day, we want to offer a very good quality, but keep the price fair!

As I say, please remember, you can order just one off, send your artwork in, and we'll print it!

And as it is Digital print, the detail will be 1000 times better than a screenprinter could ever achieve.

Will keep you updated!

i can vouch that you will get a better quality picture from the digital printers compared to screen print as i work with the damn printers everyday!
Im trying to get my workplace to get into the martial arts side of printing, we did a good run with some aikido clubs and done a little throwdown promotional wear and it was so much better to do then printing premiership football kits day in day out. lol.

Wow sounds like a great service and one that I will definately utilise!

Also, how about offering a stitching service for patches? Its a nightmare trying to find someone with a sewing machine these days and if I'm sending my Gi off for a print it would be handy if you could repair some loose patches or add some new ones at the same time.

I love this, got an awesome idea for a print I'd like on the back of my Vulcan gi. Hopefully I'll be able to afford it later in the year.

Got one question;

What would be the approx. full cost of getting an A3 back print on a gi (i.e. including the return postage)?

Hi Rob, I assume it is a white Gi?

A full size print would be approximately £12 + around £6.50 return postage due to the weight of the Gi.

Once we have it all inhouse, we will be setting something up on our website so people can order.

Also, a new website will be up and running around October that will allow people to order any item and actually upload the image directly.

Will keep everyone posted on develoment!
