Carlson's in Hammersmith is actually just over the Hammersmith Bridge in Barnes. It is an 8 minute walk from Hammersmith Station.

There is no joining fee,no direct debits and you can do a free class to check us out.

Teenagers (13-19 years old) can train for £5 per session (or £40 per month for unlimited Muay Thai,MMA,Judo and BJJ).

Adults can train for £8 per session (or £60 per month for unlimited Muay Thai,MMA,Judo and BJJ).

We have 3 BJJ Black Belts teaching and our MMA instructor Ryan Robinson just won the FX3 light heavy weight Belt with a 1st Round Submission.

We have a full free weights Gym which is free to use whenever you train including bodyweight resistance equipment (Chin and dips bars etc).

Yes Ben,I am one of the coaches. You can find out more from the site, like our team history and the belt ranks about who is who.

We've been around since the beginning if BJJ and MMA in the UK.

If you drive, the parking outside the dojo is free.

Carlson's has some top guys for sure, but if you are in between Central London and Guildford, then you could always check out Ricardo Da Silva's club in Epsom.

Excellent coach, first class team offering hard training in a friendly environment.
I am biased of course....

"Getting whipped with belts by the students, is this normal?
This is a traditional at Nova Forca. When a student grades or there is a birthday it is normal for the student to get whipped. Remember this is a celebration not a punishment and happens to everyone sooner or later."

LOL.....Friendly environment you say.

yeah man, there's no hard feelings.... lol

it's a BJJ thing, quite a lot of clubs do it... anyway it's smiles all round! Check out any posts from the Carlson's guys whenever there's a belt promotion and you'll see that it isn't just Nova Forca that keep the tradition alive!

Seriously man, it's a great place to train.

I'm directly in the middle of central London and Guilford.

Try the journey to London and the Journey to Andy's and see which one you would find easier.

Try a class or two at each and see which suits you better.

Cross reference question 1 and question 2 and you have your answer.

Luckily I don't train often enough to either be at training when it's my birthday or ever achieve a belt. What can I say, I'm a giver.

Seriously it's a great club and Ricardo is a friendly and helpful coach.

Are the BJJ classes at Carlson Gracie gi or non-gi?

FlameBoy

All the Bjj classes are gi, there is a specific nogi class and also an mma class with grappling for mma.

The wednesday MMA class at 6.30-7.45 is No Gi
The wednesday BJJ class at 7.45-9.30 is No Gi

The Sunday BJJ class at 5pm-7pm is No Gi

All other classes are with the Gi,but we welcome No Gi fighters to them, and we also have Gi's to borrow if anyone wants one.If you train No Gi in a Gi class, the other guys will take off their Gi jackets to spar with you.
