Firstly,
Thankyou Pedro, and all of the Pedro Bessa Team for running a great tournament.
Well done to Carlson Gracie Revolution Team,i was proud of all the fighters, win or lose-if you compete everyone wins because you learn faster than those that don't.You put your own JIU JITSU skills, and your own fears through a pressure test against other guys at your level-This is a massive achievement, and every competition you enter you will learn to make your own personal game work in the intense atmosphere of a competition and you will learn to control your fear and use it to harness energy to fight with.
The following fighters got medals-
Gold-Mark Fung-blue belt
Gold - Polish Patrick-White Belt
Gold-Jay the animal-Blue Belt Absolute
Silver-Thien the Thai-Blue Belt
Bronze-David Smith-White Belt Absolute
It was a pleasure seeing so many outstanding young talents but 2 fighters for the future to watch out for are-
Ash-Gracie Barra Swansea- a pro rugby player who is probably 100kg but has the best cardio i have seen for ages-he is getting awesome at judo and wrestling with a HUGE ippon seio-nage and some overhead pick up slams (ouch).
He controls fights and uses his guard passing and side control to great effect.
Luke Costello-Italo Ferrera- Andy's son-A huge talent in the making-very good jiu jitsu with a real carlson 'pass the guard' style,
but also great judo. When you mix the 2 skill's you have a fighter that can get the takedown and pass the guard.Tough to beat.
Big shout outs to all the other Teams-well done-some GREAT quality jiu jitsu,
and- Dave Coles,Machine,Monstro,Oli Geddes,Tosta,Eduardo,Scuba,Rob T,Chris Rees,Du-Du,Pippa,Creely,Brixton boys,Jacob from brassa and everyone else who i chatted with-
see you all again soon and once again-
THANKYOU AND WELL DONE PEDRO
