View Full Version : AM Cardio
I've joined a local weight lifting gym to help supplement my training. I'm looking to strip some weight first of all before anything, so I'm going to start doing cardio there before work on non training days (Mon/Wed/Fri) so I'm wondering what the best way is to manage this in terms of food/drink/supplements?
Eat before? Eat After? During?
Take supplements & water before? During? After?
Any advice appreciated!

Cardio is for cardio.
Dieting is for fat loss.

Cardio for fat loss or cardio for fitness?
Cardio for fat loss: Low intensity, longer duration on an empty stomach.
Cardio for general fitness: Steady state, medium intensity either on an empty stomach or after a small breakfast.
Cardio for MMA: High intensity intervals, small breakfast with enough carbs to fuel work out beforehand.
In all 3 I would make sure you have a plentiful meal or a shake after training. Cooked porridge with scrambled eggs or oats and whey blended would be ideal. Add a small amount of simple carbs like glucose, dextrose, fruit or waxy maize starch if you have done an intense session.
