The show will once again be held at Cedar Court Hotel (off M606) Bradford, details of which can be found on www.cedarcourthotels.co.uk
The event will be filmed by a professional crew utilising three Cameras and photographed by four photographers, the photos of which will be uploaded onto www.mmapics.com
We have seating capacity of five hundred (theatre style) and one hundred (VIP on ringside tables)
The VIP tickets are priced at 55.00 (which includes a three course meal).
The theatre style tickets are priced at 30.00.
Two of the VIP tables have already been purchased, therefore only seven tables are remaining.
The tickets are sold on an seat allocated system, so the longer it is left, the further the customer will be sat from the ring.
I urge fighters to make contact sooner rather than later. This is due to i have received a reply from 21 fighters so far whom have shown an interest in competing on the show.
The fighters will be given a ticket deal on any tickets sold by either them or their representatives.
I Will update this thread as and when the fight card comes to fruition.
Thank you in anticipation.

The pro rules are 'B' Class (no elbows).
But 3 x 5 minute rounds... same as Total Combat's rules I think?

26-08-2008, 01:41 PM
Yes, the rounds will be 3 x 5 minutes for pro fighters.
We also feel that Semi-Pro fighters would compete for two rounds and if it was a draw, they would automatically go to a third decider round.

The Champions 3 - "Fireworks" Fight Card is shaping up with some semi pro and the first pro fight announced.
This event see's Billy "Bad Boy" Glossip return to the ring after a short lay off, he faces Peter Rejdovan who trains out of Flacks Fitness gym in Bradford. Billy is back at the Caged Steel Gym preparing for his Semi-pro bout.
Bryan O'Connor fro Doncaster faces off against Scott McLellan from the Outcast Gym. Bryan lost his 2 outings at "The Champions" while Scott returns after his loss to Andy Reid. Both guys are looking for there first wins on the Champions Show.
Fulinkazan Andy "Smash" Reid is confirmed to fight Mathew Earnshaw of the Huddersfield based Red Dragons Gym. Andy's last outing was a quick affair winning by KO in 32 Seconds at The Champions 1, Mathew picked up a Submission victory at The Champions 2 ... This could be a classic Grappler Vs Striker bout
Dean Thorpe was not getting paid by the hour for his last fight, winning his bout in under 1minute by Guillotine Choke the Leeds based fighter is working hard for another against Dennis Webb. This is Dennis debut for the Champions and is looking to start by beating the energised Thorpe.
Adam Khan showed fantastic heart and skill to come 2nd in the Sprawl n Brawl interclub under 77kg and he now makes his "Champions" debut. He up against Nij Wright for the Warriors Elite who lost his last bout but looking to get his first "Champions" win against Khan.
2x Veteran of "The Champions" Phil "Hitman" Hoban returns to fight pro after winning his 2 Semi pro outings. The Hitmans exciting style of "in your face" brawling always has the fans on the edge of there seat. Robin Hughes looks to upset the local man and his fans by getting his first win at "The Champions 3 - FIREWORKS"
Keep an eye on The Champions website and forum for up to date information on the fight card and fighter interviews.
This week Qasim Iron Shafiq lets rip in a short but sweet interview in the build up of his next fight at the Champions. Already 2-0 and with only a short time in the sport, Qas has gone though two wars to stamp his authority on the Semi Pro under 84kg catagorie. See what he has to say on our forum:-

Semi Pro Bout Focus -
Paul Durber (Caged Steel) -V- Andy Krilic (Combat Base) 75kg
Paul “Durbinator” Durber a crowd favourite is back in the Champions ring with an impressive record of 2-0 in Semi Pro with a KO and a Submission win, he has to be feeling confident in his next fight were ever it ends up. Trying to put an end to his winning streak is Teacher Andy Krilic hoping to educate Paul with his Thai boxing background and his slick submissions.
Check out Paul’s interview here http://www.mappuk.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16
Pro Headline fight Focus-
Dave Hirst (Fulinkazan) -V- Nathan Boyce (Team Akurei) 77kg
Nathan “The Bulldozer” Boyce from Middlesbrough will make the long trip to square off against Bradford based fighter Dave “Hollywood” Hirst. Nathan has an impressive 5-1 record with a mixture of powerful striking and submission skills. Dave is no stranger to “The Champions” having headlined the first show and winning his bout very quickly against the game Richard Taylor, Dave had to take some time off with a broken hand. But he’s back and training very hard to get his second Champions win on the books.

Hi guys well just wanna let ya's know rob the knob hughes has pulled out of the fight with our phill today, our phill is devasted and hoping he can get matched up before saturday, if anyone knows of anyone wanting to fight pro at 77kg contact saif (mappuk). I strongly suggest to any promoters out there to never have robin hughes on their show cos he was meant to fight our phill on the last champions and pulled out on him, and now he has done it again 4 days before the fight knowing it would be hard to match our phill up, come to think about it i think the little timewaster should be banned from fighting, sorry just my opinnion.

Yes, Rob has declined to fight and therefore we are in the process of finding a suitable replacement (possibly one that would be slightly more honourable)

Really sorry that John Mann had to pull out also due to a shoulder injury. He was doing standing clinch work with a guy at my club called 'The Unit' last Monday and fell with the weight of the big guy on it. Nothing broken, just soft tissue damage but he's in agony with it and will be out of training for some time. He's gutted as we all are, had worked really hard for the fight and will gladly take the match again if there's a possibility on the next show. Should have been a really good match up with them being about the same age. Hope the show goes well Saif.

It was my first time on the Champions and allI can say is what a great show. Has the same setting as a UFC Ultimate Fight Night. Was really impressed. Just like to say a big thank you to Saif for making the show happen. And the biggest thank you ever to my team who helped me on the night, they were great: Andy McGurgan, Jason Tan, Tom 'Waterboy' Baxter, Mike Wootten, Paul Sass, Shuan 'SDR' Robinson & Jay McGuinness. Also, thanks to Steve Smith, Richie Ryder, Mark Scanlon, Lee Chadwick for also helping on the night. And a massive thanks to Next Generation consisting of Pete Davies & Paul Rimmer and a lot of good guys who put me through hell most days.
Finally, Chris Gaskin is a tough guy and will give a lot of people a torrid time. He was game, and had good jiu jitsu, as well as being athleitc and strong. I wish him all the best in the future.

Well in to Ste Smith for his quick leglock victory (lutre livre, my fren ;) ), Jon 'Footloose' McGurgan for his incredible FLYING ARMBAR win, and Richie Ryder for a simply stunning 2.5 round slugfest which ended in a draw with BOTH fighters unable to continue!
Got to say what a great show this was - everything from the venue and facilities, running times, fighter treatment, and the matchmaking/card was spot on. Shows like this, AMMA, Fightzone/Battleground and Gladiator School really do give some of the 'big' shows a serious run for their money.
Also a special mention to the Declan Williams v James Martin fight. Superb contest between two really game and talented guys. The fight literally had the crowd on their feet from start to finish. Declan got a hard fought split-decision win, but I could have also seen a case for a James Martin win, mainly down to his Wanderlei-style striking. Good luck in the future to both guys, great fight, suprised it didn't go a 3rd round.

I am so sorry for not being able to do the show mate, I am gutted. The owners are just being a bunch of C***S at the moment about DJ's having time off, even though some DJ's have had 5 or 6 weeks off this year and Ive only had 4 days, 2 of which were for your shows. They have me by the balls mate and I'm so sorry for giving you the extra headache.
I hope everything went well for you and Pete tonight, which im sure it did. I had another meeting today and they have promised I can have the nights off next year so If you still want me then that would be great but I understand if you dont, I'll give you a few days to relax after the stress of the last few weeks lol and I'll call you later in the week

What a Night, Id 1st like to say thank you to James Martin for given me the fight iv wanted from the day i got into MMA and for given me the best fight of my Semi-pro career, Im so glad that my last Semi-pro fight was against you mate, the decision cud of gone either way and i really was worried i hadn't done enough to get the win, He Punched like a mule and had an head as hard as a mules it was def the toughest fight i have ever had BUT loved every minute of it EVEN when he rocked me (about 4 times in a row) and when he knocked me stupid with slams (twice).
Big Thanks to all my Boys @ Team Warriors Elite for helpin me to prepare for this fight and all my fights also thanks to them who cum to cheer me on with out use i couldn't do what i do and its your shouting that keeps me going though the fights "Thank You".
Now a BIG thank to Khanie and Pete for having me on your AWSOME show each show gets better and better and i truely do think this is the best Ring show in the UK and I know its gona get bigger and better each show you put on, i just hope you have me back to fight.
Id like to say Well Done to Nij Wright on his win, you put alot of time and effort in and you really did deserve this win buddy.
Well Done to by lil Bro you did Fuckin Awsome Seany i was proud as pal you did exactly what i knew you cud do it was def the fight of the night for me, Now you need to do that in every fight.
Mark Aldridge is becoming a LEDG in my eyes, he cud have took an easy fight last night and he would have def got the win But instead he said fuck that give me the Toughest 65kg Pro fighter on the card. You have balls of steal mate i know it will be your time very soon pal and i just wanted u to know When i posted about fighting you it wasn't meant as an insult are as any disrespect buddy like you i want to fight the toughest guys out there and you dont give a fuck how big are tough they are and for that i have alot of respect for you and if you ever fancy coming down to the Warriors gym to train with us your more then welcome pal.

well done khanie on another great show
My first time at this show and just wanted to big up the organisers for a very professionally run event littered with "little touches" that made all the difference. Trophies for both fighters, colour-coded for a win and a loss and framed photographs of the fighters from the weigh-ins.
Also big up to my main man Jon McGurgan for his aerial finish! :D Ste Smith for having a perfectly executed game-plan and Richie Ryder for defying the ageing process and putting on a WAR.
