heart rate moniters

can anyones reccomend a good heart rate moniter, that works with most gym equipment aswell? been looking around but havent used anything like this before so any help appreciated

Polar F55 about 60 quid, does what it says on the tin, easy to use and keeps a history for weeks and weeks. Shows max HR, average HR and calories burned (based on your personal stats).
V reliable also, battery lasts about 2-3 yrs with regular use.

Argos sell em. Bought mine a few years back, maybe prices have gone up. I'd be surprised if they were as much as 100 dabs!

Polar are very good and reliable, although unless you are likely to be in a place where other people are also using HRMs it may not be worth paying the extra - I got a decent RunTec one off ebay for around 30 quid that does all I need.
