Hi guys started muay thai recently and one of the guys @ gym has given me a set of twins 16oz to tide me over until i get my own.
Problem is they are rather foosty and are in good need of a wash :D Any ideas on cleaning them...i think washing machine is out as it will wreck the leather...suggestions welcome!

Not sure if you can wash them, maybe just spray a bit of air freshener in them but wear handwraps, they will absorb most sweat and stop ur hands smelling so bad, and you can wash them. Hope that helps!

or it is rumoured that putting them in the freezer overnight gets rid of the smell, I dont think it works very well though.

Cheers...I will have a check but think my solution is going to be:
"here can you handwash these for me pet" ;)
"these are stinking - no chance!"

lol u could be nice and give her a peg to put on her nose
i had a little look on the net and found this
I have started using Milton wipes on my gloves and shins as had a few eye infections recently. Pretty cheap and just give my stuff a wipe down afterwards on my leather stuff.

what are they and where do u get them from
They are a surface wipe, Milton is baby sterilising stuff. http://www.milton-tm.com/products/antibacterial.htm
Just got them from Sainsburys, you have to venture into the baby bit though! Suppose any kind of anti bacterial type wipe would be fine though.

Trouble is tho that with boxing gloves the stink soaks all the way into the padding. My advice would be febreeze them and keep em aired out, then buy ur own soon as u can. Prevention is the only way really, just make sure u wear hand wraps and air out the new ones after each training session. But eventually, all gloves end up smelling like feet! Looking after them puts it back a few years tho.
I don't have this problem, my hands smell of fresh spring mornings, even after training as I am a fragrant lady :D
