Are stand alone punch bag stands any use..compared to the ones being fixed to a wall?
I'm thinking of getting one for my gym (The mrs would KO me faster than Fedor/Sylvia if I make a mess off the walls :D)
Also, which are the best? where to get the etc? Any help would be awesome.
Cheers,
R
I have had one and would not both, they move and slide. I gave up using it.

if possible hang it on ceiling in middle of room so you can move around or get a free standing bag (the ones with a solid base that you can fill with sand/water. then you can use it outside and throw it around to practice mma =]

i have one, paid £140 for it i think, to be honest for me it was a waste of money, i seem to have either bent the screws or the thing is breaking with the swing of the bag its all sloped to one side.

I personally don't like the free standing punch bags, but if you have the money and the room then I would get one of these, they're pretty bitchin!

I don't like free standing bags as I like to use the movement of a heavybag to work on my angles and moving around it....but I guess if you live in a rented place or you have a missus who'll kill you, then you gotta make do.
I think those Bob XL things are pretty cool

I live in a 4th floor apartment, so I don't have a garden, if I did, I'd have all kinds of shit out there.
I want a house with a basement, so I can set up a little gym thing. Unfortunately, houses with basements are hard to come by

Gotta agree that a hanging bag is better, but I had a similar issue and ended up getting a wavemast xl, and its pretty decent really. It does move a bit, but if you circle around it it doesnt matter too much.
Worst part was filling the base though - I used sand and it took me hours!! I reckon if it was filled with water it'd be all over the place though!
