just watched pride of britain awards.
some lunatic breaks into a house of a guy hes just had an argument with.
he goes upstairs with a kitchen knife and stabs a women (who is in the house on her own with 2 kids) 12 times
this wakes the kids who are obviously terrified by the sight of some asshole stabbing their mother. the son who is about 8/9 years old jumps on the attacker.
the attacker throws kid to floor and slashes his face with blade

the mother f**ker gets caught and is sentenced to "8 and a half years" for attempted murder. WTF
he will be out in 4 on tag with good behaviour

this is no deterrent at all to the gutless b@$tards who use blades.
if you stab someone give them a sentence that is in line with murder.
those por kids and women will prob have emotional scars for life

Shocking isn't it. This is happening with all sorts of criminals: rapists, murderers, paedophiles, drink drivers who cause deaths etc etc, they are all getting given pathetic sentences for their crimes to begin with, and most of the time are out in less than half the time. I would love to meet the judges who give these sentences, ask them to explain themselves then give them a good punch to the throat.

And yeah attempted murder should be treat like murder, the person has intended to murder someone, its that simple.

But in seriousness I really think violent crime needs to be seriously heavily punished as compared to things like drugs or whatever. Kids and assorted retards who carry knives need to KNOW they are doing 5-10 if they get caught with one on them never mind in use.

The problem is that in this country political correcness has gone f*cking crazy - if you were to give these people really harsh sentences you'd get the human rights brigade coming out complaining....
