Please post your questions about the Kent Open here, here's a few to get you started.


When is it?

2nd November 2008

where is it?

Dartford Judo Club
Cotton Lane
Dartford
Kent DA2 6PD

what time will it start?

referees meeting at 9am first divisions at 9.30

what division will go first?

a schedule will be posted nearer the time, expect purples and browns to be on before lunchtime though.

is it gi or no gi?

It is a gi competition

how much to enter?

£25

does that include the absolute?

Yes, £25 will allow you to enter both.

How do I register for the absolute?
Time permitting the absolutes will be called on the day, THERE WILL NOT BE PRE REGISTRATION FOR THE ABSOLUTE.

why not?

because the brackets from pre registration are NEVER in any way relevant to the people who actually want to fight.

how many fights will I get?


you should get at least 2 with the repechage system.

what on earth is that?lose your first fight and you go into the repechage, lose another and you're out, keep winning and you get bronze.

is the weight with or without gi?

CBJJ weights with the gi

when do i weigh in?

when your division is called you will weigh in, if you are over you are disqualified, simple. Do not come in 1kg over and ask your instructor to have a word, your division will have started without you.

Is Stone Crossing Railway Station the nearest to Cotton Lane (Dartford Judo Centre) ??

Stone is the closest train station to the event - you've got some local knowledge there fella! Although Im not sure that Stone has the best services or times. Dartford would be the best for amount of trains AND travel connections. - There maybe a minibus doing runs limited runs on the day - at a small charge - more details closer to the time!
