Grappling CAN be effective if a "bunch of grapplers attack one guy!" It's NOT the best way to do it, but yes, a bunch of grapplers COULD do it in a gang-style attack - against most LONE guys. So, if THAT'S your reason for training grappling, go for it! Just make sure you always hang out with other grapplers, so you'll all be ready to gang up on ONE guy if the occasion arises!
