I think that WWE took a shot at UFC big time! TNA was nice enough to put a big congratulations on tnawrestling.com's front page.

From WWE.com

Critics have noted that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round, leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content. The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that UFC pay-per-view events can often be a "crap shoot" in regards to filling the full three hours.

What a load of shit.

UFC has the competitive nature of MMA going against them at times, I have no idea what they could do to tackle that problem?

I hate how people act like becoming the WWE champ isnt an accomplishment. Sure its not a sporting accomplishment, but you do have to be one of the best in the pro wrestling world to get it. If anyone knows anything about WWE they will know only the top dudes actually win it.

you never saw funaki win the title...

i put it on the same level as winning an award at a awards show...

Your right, it's quite the honour if the WWE puts there top strap on you, Pro Wrestling isn't competitive but its very demanding, they work 4-6 times a week and are always on the road and get some bad injuries that affect them later in life.

a lot of pressure being wwe champ

depending on how many fans your attracting and how much of a draw you are depends on how long you keep the strap

all the kids love cena and was champ for like 2 years at one point

I used to dislike John Cena until I watched his DVD that explained now he got into the business etc, he put alot of effort in and still does! he's come back from two bad injuries this year in just 3 months when he should have had 6+ off!

His Pro Wrestling ability isn't the best ever but sometimes the entertainer can mask that, kids love him as someone said!

WWE is an embaressment.
it is cringeworthy seing grown adults screaming and jumping around getting excited about something everybody knows is completely staged.
wrestling was enjoyable and entertaining when i was about 13 years old, adults watching it and getting so into it makes me cringe.
the WWE makes a mockery of the 'fight sport genre' which actually contains reall, proper fight sports

Any different to people getting excited over Eastenders?

As long is it keeps calling itself entertainment then its fine.

Ill rather watch WWE then Ian Beale have another affair.

As Pred said as long as they keep saying "Entertainment", they are not allowed at this time to be called just an Entertainment company but they are trying to as they dont want to be classified as "Sports Entertainment" .... they even go as far to refer to there "Wrestlers" as "Entertainers" now.

OMG hahahaha Pred I just seen your signature about Scorpion Kings hahahahahaha

As strange as I find it that grown men love pro-wrestling and alot even believe it is real still, but to me it isn't surprising, as people still believe in god, no offense intended to anyone religious, but I think both are as bad as believing santa claus comes down your chimney and puts presents under your christmas tree. That being said WWE is good entertainment for those who like it, but I think they talk to much shit for their own good, so fuck them and their dillusional fans.

What a load of shit.

lol, innit.

All the fights were amazing. Who would be angry that they got to watch so many fights on one PPV, all of which had amazing endings?! Well, one decision, but that was also a good fight thanks to Gurgel being retarded.

I understand the business part of wwe and being a champ, you get the fans, you get the belt type thing... but saying it in the same sentence as winning the ufc belt, is plain wrong surley, its not even nearly the same to make out its as big a deal.. one is for fan base, and the other is for actually getting hit and hitting for real..

but, it does prove one lot of people wrong, who watch wwe and say stuff like, look at all them, yeah their big, but I bet they couldnt take a real punch..

I dont have a prob with pro wrestling, man I was a huge fan back in the day, and ill still watch it now if it was on when eastenders wasnt. but to say along the lines of, winning the ufc champinonship is in the same league as the wwe, is stupid.. they got carried away a bit there I think

*This is just a thought, please dont hate me* Hasn't the fact Brock won a WWE Title helped him enter the UFC how he did?

I completly agree that they are different and shouldn't be compared, but they both are achievements he should be proud of!

darthcrab
17-11-2008, 12:47 PM
100%, he should be proud of wwe belt.
just the whole comparing them to each other, kind of "h learnt all he knows here to beat Randy" type attitude,, would be fair enough if it was Jake shields going to UFC and beating the whole division up and then the shaw's saying, we made him into that fighter, even though it wouldnt be true, at least its the same game

Your right, but Vince will do anything to try generate publicity for WWE thats likely why he's done it to kind of start heat between WWE and UFC, :rumour: he attempted to sign Mike Goldberg a few years ago and apparently it was going to happen but Mike refused to no show a UFC event so the deal fell threw.

I reckon Brock wont really appreciate what WWE put either, atleast TNA congratulated him and then slighly plugged Kurt Angle.

Seems the Pro Wrestling fans are also annoyed, WWE's answer will be that the comment was from critics in general and not WWE.

It seems that Santino Marella has MMA or some form of combot training as well, strange I didn't even know that!

I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. There have been some terrible WWE/F Champions. And some terrible WCW ones too (When they were about.)

I cant comment on recently, or before my time but from 1998-2001 all the WWF champions were legit (except vinnie mac).

never watched WCW much, but I imagine they had some horrible champions...
