A big thank you for all those who took part today in the try-outs at SBG, you all showed that there is a far greater pool of talent in the UK and we hope this is the start of bigger things to come.
We will be posting pictures of the event on the frontpage in the next few days plus linking to video from cagefilm.com and also looking forward to seeing the BBC News report online and on TV.
US try-outs begin next week and so after deliberations we will begin to select the contenders for the show.
Thanks also to cagefilm.com for filming, mmmapics.com for the photography, Caged Steel for the fightwear & SBG for the venue - great supporters for MMA in the UK.
Thanks once again to all those who travelled from as afield as Cornwall, London & Glasgow to attend and I think we are all looking forward to the McVeigh vs Sexton fight at the next Cagewarriors event in 2009.

There was a great turn out, and I was really impressed with the overall standard. It was great to get so many talented female fighters together in one room at the same time.
I think this shows the potential that female MMA has in this country, and I'd love to see a lot of these women competing either amateur or pro over the next few years. (Actually, I could have gone on all afternoon just watching the match ups we had there today, but had to stop somewhere).
Thanks to everyone who helped make this event happen, and to everyone who took the time to come down. :)

I really hope this gets Women's MMA noticed again here in the UK. I think this show could be the thing that gets more Women into the sport
I would love to put on more female fights on CW. But one of the things that have held me back is the fiasco's that have occured in other promotions and also a lack of participants.

Agreed with all the above! Realy good turn out, and I was impressed with the level shown in both stand up and grappling. I think we got some decent pro's to offer the world of womens MMA for the future!
Looking forward to seeing who made the team...

I'd like to thank everyone involved as well! It was the first time I've ever fought women full range and I really enjoyed myself.

I'm surprised at this post Kainer. I don't know what 'fiascos' you are referring to, but if something has happened on one show, doesn't mean it's going to happen on yours. It's an opportunity for you to do it better!
Yes, I agree there are a lack of opponents. How about adding women MMAers to your show that are available from the uk & bringing someone over for them to fight. I know you've done it before..
I'll fight :D & I'm sure most of the others would love to as well. You have a few to choose from.. :)

We are actively looking for female fighters to compete on our show (The Champions). Our next show is on 28th Feb 2009 and ask that female fighters make contact.
Thank you in anticipation.
