compter virus help please

seems my computer has been infected with the win32.zafi.B worm. windows firewall is blocking all my internet connections as protection and avg free antivirus is shite and wnt kill it :mad:

how can i get rid of it? preferably a free measure?

it's not doing anything much. firewall has told me i have this worm and asked me to "enable protection" which seems to shut down all my internet use. the worm i have is a keylogger apparently, which then spreads itself be email.

Dont know if this will work or not but apparently this is a removal tool for it - not sure if its free or not, if not search google (on the pc you are on now!) for
virus name - removal and things like that

To be honest mate, id backup the really important stuff and format it.

I never format computers normally. But once a Virus has got in, well there is no point pussy footing around with it. Someone could have broken in already and installed more stuff.

Back the stuff up. Format the PC, install good virus software and don't run your PC as the admin account.

i just downloaded a trial of kaspersky to see if it'll shift it, would that not be enough?

what would you say is good antivirus software?

Look through all the listings in google and see if any are dodgy.
There is a tool too that will check it for you:

There are forums that you can post the whole thing to and the nice people will do it for you.

cool, will try that when kaspersky is done running. gt a new external hard drive on the way so wll reformat when that arrives. cheers dude :)

but i gotta reformat again lol i decided the partition my c drive into 2 parts, but it's pissing me off so i need to go back and do it again :)
