has any1 had a boxers fracture and if you did what did you do, go to the doctors straight away, or pack with ice and rest it for while

had one of these and i neglected it and boy do i regret it..

i still have trouble with it..

have it looked at asap and give it plenty of rest or it will become calussed (sp?) and stiff..and evtime u hit a bag/pads u will experience as sharp jagging feeling in ur hands until u r warmed up..it def hindered me from hitting as hard as i could in training..

I got a boxers fracture a few years ago when I slugged a smack head after he stole something from a shop I worked at.

Go straight to the hospital, they really can't do much in terms of casts or anything, as it's not a solid, set bone to begin with (carpals are a bitch) but they can stop it getting worse and tell you what to do and what not to do

defo get it checked out.

Broke my 5th metacarpal, left it for a week, then went to docs as once the swelling was down noticed it was out of shape. Sadly too late to get it straight.

Defo get it checked ASAP and explain that your a martial artists (not a cage fighter) and request that they splint it in order for it to be as straight as possible.

Fortunately for me i broke mine again in the same place a few years later, this time i had to stay in the hospital over night for them to straighten it out in the morning. Still a bit of a 'curve' to the bone but much better than before.

As everyone else says, defo get it sorted before it starts to heal, you do not want it to heal slighty off angle as it will just keep breaking....
