Groin guards... Recommendations needed please!

After literally having my nuts crushed when rolling yesterday, I now fully realise the importance of wearing a groin guard. I do actually have one of the shock doctors (the shorts with the cup in) but it is the most uncomfortable thing in the world, so have never bothered wearing it.

Can anyone recommend one obviously based on comfort and protection? Price is not an issue. Any help is much appreciated!

I know who it was but I cant remember his name! The one I was training with for all the take downs. It was the worst pain in the world, I definitely want one for next week!

Dan was trainin with Bowsey for take downs so not him, same thing happened to me on tuesday when i was doin GI work, knee straight to my knackers. was a good shot mind as it was very very cold in redcar on tuesady!

Here is what i do.

I always grapple with a box on. I wear a large metal muay thai cup, i used to wear plastic ones from mma universe but after cracking 2 of them i thought better of it.

As for getting one that fits well, i wear a large cup in a medium jockstrap i find this works best or you could just use the straps that come with the metal cup and tie it tight.

I ALWAYS wear a cup, but yesterday was the first time without one, and now my right nut is smushed due to wayward heels whilst people were taking my back.

I use a steel Thai cup, it's awesome.

If you wear a steel cup while your taking some ones back and then stretch them out they'll soon know about it.

haha might sound gay but i preffer thes tring bit that a normal jockstrap.
It makes the cup fit tighter , and doesnt move around as much.

Metal thai cup in an elastic jock strap works well for me. I used to tie it on with the thong style straps that came with it until they broke and being lazy I couldn't be bothered replacing them.

Before using a Thai cup, I had a standard 'sports cup', made of tough plastic. That is until Danny Wallace performed a "Andre Gollota" on me, with two (yes TWO!) singing uppercuts to the bollox. The result was a cup that had been split into three pieces......:(

I had this problem too. The shorts don't hold it well enough so you end up with bits half in and half out (which is even worse when someone kneels on you). You need the shockdoctor jock strap. That holds it together real well. I found its best if you wear the jock with the cup and then some compression shorts over the top.

Did me bud, a soft cup with holes in lmao. ut seriously it works, so comfortable when grappling!

Another thumbs up fo te spider guard. Only when grappling, I have a normal jock strap for Thai, because the shorts comedown to my Knees an I look a flid in Thai shorts.

For grappling tho it moves around and doesn't totall dig into your groin when you have somebodys back o whatever.
