Not much really, but it is about the best in comparision with its counterparts like KFC, McD's or bugerking etc.

It's 1 up from them. They serve nice food at an affordable price and they serve beer and nothings rushed. We went to the local one in town and it looked really nice.... none of this tacky plastic seat/hussle and bussle you get at Maccy D's. I had the Chicken Pitta Hot with garlic bread and a brahma beer. Must say the Chicken was medium rather than hot so maybe have the next one up next time. Overall not too bad at all.

Yeah its certainly better then the others, but still just a fast food chicken joint, and their piri piri is fairly bland in comparision to the stuff you get in portugal or africa.

MikeyL

portugal or africa is a bit of a trek for chicken...

Because of course the recipe wont work outside of the country of origin.

You're absolutely right there, Sunshine. Sometimes when I look round my local take-aways I can't believe how Johnny Foreigner has stabbed the Great British culinary tradition in the back. Makes me sick.

The other day, my missus put some pasta in front of me. I said, "What you fucking doing, woman?" and went down the boozer for a classic English pie and a pint of beer. Real ale, mind. Not this Australian fucking piss-water that the pinkos are trying to ram down my throat.

British is best, eh Plastik? We understand each other, mate.

Yeah right, you say that but I bet you've had a sneaky curry while your missus is out haven't you, eh?

Although I know what you mean, you can't beat Traditional English food (Sunday roast, Yorkshire puddings, Steak n ale pie, Bangers n mash etc), especially from a proper traditional pub (not Weatherspoons cheep n cheerful plastic crap!).

Jellied eels, Pie and Mash, Rollmops, all served by a ruddy faced land lady...who needs michelin stars eh?

Gawdamn I HATE pretty much all 'British' food! For one thing it's all so high in starchy carbs that I normally start to crash and fall asleep before I can even finish the plate.

The sad thing about 'English' food as well is that when you go to Ireland or Scotland you realise that they're actually far better at doing the same traditional dishes that we eat here. Irish/Scottish breakfast>>> Full English

In fact general culinary standards - no matter what or how healthy your choice in cuisine - are higher in Ireland and Scotland imho.

.

That can be the case, but traditional british food done well is really good imo.

Tbh Nando's sucks

It's like its not a fast food joint but its not a proper restaraunt. Like I wouldn't take a girl on a first date to fucking nandos but same way if i was strolling around town abit hungry i'd much rather have a juicy doublewhopper with bacon on! Nando's is for fags, real men go burger king.

Do people aged 20+ eat chicken nuggets?

Just curious......

SDR

If I HAVE to eat McDonalds I'll usually eat something chicken based including Nuggets or that burger they used to do with Tortilla chips on. I am indeed a 20+ single white male.

LOL i go to nando's with my gf when time allows.

The drink is seriously overpriced but it's more affordable than going to most resturants

Pittas and burgers are for poofs as is the use of a knife and fork for anything but rice.

23-01-2009, 10:44 AM
Dave Hirst is correct, but i did use a knife and fork for my mash ;)

im sure im not the only one who has a whole chicken at Nando's.

BTW the frozen yogurt is the nuts!

Dave Hirst
23-01-2009, 08:37 PM
Yes mash would be a suitable excuse for using a fork, I have to say I always choose 2 regular sides over 1 'fino' side so I haven't had it yet.

I am never really anything but disappointed with the frozen yoghurt though, the most entertaining part of it is trying to get as much in the bowl as possible with a single helping, so that it resembles a comedy dog turd.

The rum and raisin ice cream is better but there isn't enough of it.

Ahh its been a while since I went Nandos, is my bloody favourite. Half of a extra hot chicken with chips and corn on the cob mmmmm I think I'll go for a whole chicken next time I go to make up for all the lost time.

I have an obsession with hot food and I can't find much hot food that is hot enough, I was thinking about going to a curry house and asking for their hottest dish, even if that means its a special off the menu, I want to eat the hottest thing a human is able to eat without dying.

But Nandos extra hot chicken is top stuff, people might sit there comparing them to maccy d's and what not but Nandos chicken is the freshest you'll find in a food place, it's far better chicken than any restuarant I've been to ( mind you I'm not loaded so I don't eat in those fancy french and posh fuckfart places ).

Conclusion - Nandos owns, if you don't agree, Nandos just might kick your fucking bollox in, in the form of a professional fighter by the sounds of it.

Dave Hirst

The thing about Nandos is that the hotness brings out the flavour of the chicken. A lot of hot stuff like vindaloo etc just seems to taste of spice and nothing else, it isn't nice to eat.

Luke

Today I bought Nandos marinade sauce from Tesco. Gonna put it on my chicken and see what happens!!

do they do chicken hearts at nandos?

Dave Hirst
24-01-2009, 09:01 PM
Livers, not hearts.

The chicken hearts in Rio are cool. According to legend if you eat a chicken's heart you gain their warrior spirit, which might not be such a good thing.
