View Full Version : Pasta, couscous or rice?

If I absolutely have to eat one of the above choices which one should I go for and why?

It depends! (The answer to everything...)

On the whole though, out of those, brown rice would be my pick. Unless I was carb loading or immediately post training in which case I'd be more likely to go with pasta or couscous. Dunno if that's absolutely optimal, but it seems to work for me.

If I'm being ultra healthy, I'd go for quinoa or amaranth (I know, I know, they're not on the list, but still can't help mentioning them). Just as easy to cook, and generally much higher protein and nutrient content.

I prefer Intercourse but chose couscous because Neill Wylie remembers that it's important to enjoy your food. I must admit though I absolutely love savory rice, the stuff with the sheath still on!
