So is it a draw in the true sense of the word ? (pulling names out of a bag etc) or will there be 'seeds' ?

both - the fighters who have applied have been seeded by all of the BFC members and on the day there will be a random pick from the 'Red Corner' & the 'Blue Corner' to decide who will face who at the first eliminator events.
For clarity, the seeds have ben voted on from the total names who applied from the public invitation whcih was open to all comers - if anyone is missing from the draw, then they didnt apply.

so theoretically speaking could members of the same team be drawn against one another? Or would teams be 'guarded' or 'seeded' against such happenings?
I suppose there can only be one winner in any weight class so alls fair in love and war...

As you say, all's fair in love and war - the selection process did take this into account but only to a certain degreee and the rest is up to the luck of the draw.
