16 is definitely not too young mate, loads of kids start boxing much younger and we have a kid training in GB Swansea who has been training in the adults class since he was 14. He is 16 now and making his amateur debut in a few weeks.
Find a good gym and go for it.

ive heard good things about him off chris. should be a good start to the event fighting tom.
I started around 14 and regret it somewhat, got loads of injuries from early on. But 16 should be fine.

Yes mate, I'm really looking forward to it! :)
I started BJJ when I was 24. I wish I'd seen UFC 1 in 1993!!

I am currently training a 15 year old. He is picking things up really well and will be ready to fight amateur by the end of the year. Atm skillwise he is good enough but he needs to have the right reasons for fighting and imo he hasnt atm. Will be quality when he does.

I started judo at 7 or 8 stuck to it for a few years then started thai then boxing. Always found hitting people more fun but think the Judo gave a good base for balance and when we started to wrestle. Its amazing what I still remember concept wise and advice wise from my Judo coaches.

Age is just a number when you have focus and are driven. The sooner the better though.
