Ive never really used this before to be honest but after an excellent session from Matt T on X guard i was impressed with it and how effective it can be.
Anyone have any decent hints / tips / Instructionals? on this?

Garcia is the man for X guard,
I played with it for a few months but its doesnt really suit my style anymore so i threw it out my game. But its got some solid sweeps IMO

yeah after looking through its concepts i do feel i could adapt it into my game for certain scenario's. the sweeps and standups were quality.

Its awesome for sub wrestling and bjj, more difficult to use in mma however, you run the risk of getting smacked in the face as you set it up.
Probably my favourite guard in any type of grappling though, once u get it, its so hard for peopple to stop u sweeping tthem or taking their back, because its not something a lot of people use or are shown counters for often.

X-guard is a type of guard used mostly for sweeping, like already mentioned.
You can hit a few submissions from X-guard but not many!
I personally like it and sometimes play around with it.

X Guard seems cool but I dunno, people I grapple with wouldn't fall for it I dont think, expecially Saville haha.

It is regularly used in the highest level of competition (although at that level a lot of stuff is partially a constant scramble too) so it will work fine. The obvious problem is that if you're rolling with someone better than you, it's hard to do anything.
