gb no longer use the taz design as they had to stop after warner lodged complaints. if you go to the big comps run by ibjjf they make you remove any gb patches with taz on as gb faces being sued for it.

From what I've been told, soon every Official GB school will have to use the same logo with no deviation from the original.

I see why they are doing this, as it displays uniform throughout the school with the interpretation being that GB becomes instantly recognisable if the logo is the same throughout.

However, I don't know where this leaves clubs that have their own modified version of the GB Logo that's incorporated into websites, T-Shirts and other promotional merchandise.

People may have to spend a lot of money with his change.

I've just completed the designs for our clubs logo. The sample T shirts and Hoodies have just come through yesterday and they do look very professional IMO.

http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh209/damianbrown/gbweb-1.png

I'm not sure how strict everything will be and I DO see why they would do this, but a lot of people have put a lot of work and effort into representing GB and their own clubs.

I'm just glad that our samples were very late coming, as we could have already put the orders in for large quantities and potentially lost a lot of money doing so.

Nice design!

I think standardising everything would be pretty stupid tbh. I'm sure Braulio is more than qualified to maintain the quality in the UK without there having to be strict guidelines.

Nice design!

Cheers mate.

That's my opinion too. However, after approving our other club logo for the website and to be used on the back of T shirts and Hoodies www.graciebarramansfield.co.uk, Victor rang my instructor and said that we will have to change our logo, as it's looking like this may be going ahead quite soon and the "Dragon would have to go"

We are still not 100% sure if we can still have the real approach logo using Victors orange logo, with the original GB Logo though.

I'ts looking like like Braulio will be the head distributer of GB products in the UK and sell official GB products to every official GB school in the UK.

So every club has the same range and design of T shirts and all that lark.

Now I'm not stating that this is 100% fact as Victor only spoke to My instructor, as he knew I had only just sorted the two designs and he'd approved them, as our T shirt have both a modded logo of his on (Real Approach) and his own Victor Estima logo on the sleeve.

It's all sketchy, but we were told NOT to go ahead with the Dragon Logo on our new T shirt and Hoody designs, as it's looking that we will all have to have the same original GB designed logo for official clubs.

I can see GB losing schools over this. It might be the sort of approach which works in the US but the UK is a totally different mentality imo.

You don't build loyalty by forcing people to follow strict guidelines.

It does seem a bit like an inforcement of branding and only being able to buy authorised GB clothing and stuff. I agree with Rob GB could see people moving away from thier schools.

It is a shame if clubs are forced to stop using their own GB based patches and are allowed only to use the official logo, but that comes as being part of the GB franchise, which is the business model now being used by Carlinhos and the GB company. Unfortunately it boils down to the fact that Carlos Jr knows the value of the GB name, and is making sure he makes money of it, so if you're gonna call your club "Gracie Barra .... " then you have to live by the GB rules.

I don't really like the rules & regulations stuff, especially if they try to make people all buy the GB gis, the last one I had was expensive and not the best quality, I much prefer my Kieko/Padilla.

With regard to the patches, probably best if you have a seperate club/instructer patch like Braulio & Victor if you want somthing different. But I suppose its only fair that GB have some control over whos using their name & patch.
