Andy Aspinall has been requested by the BJA to take a BJJ training session for the U20 GB cadets Judo squad. It is on this Sunday 15th Feb at 10:30 - 12:30 at the world class SKK judo club in Newton le willows. If anybody would like to come along and train with some of the best Judoka in Great Britian then please PM me. Cost is £5. A map to the club is available on www.skkjudo.com.
This is a great opportunity to push BJJ forward in this country especially as the BJA are involved and are getting more interested and are realising it can only improve their existing judokas.
Cheers
Ian

Great day with the GB squad on Sunday with over 70 fighters on the mat.
We started off with 15 mins of basic warm up exercises which proved a challenge in itself with so many on the mat.
From there Andy took them through various techniques which included escapes, sweeps, turnovers, chokes and armbar's from all fours, half guard and full guard positions.
Every technique that was shown was able to be easily integrated into the judokas game without conflict with new Judo rules so all in all it was a very productive training session for the future of British Judo.
Amongst the judo squad was Rowena Birch (6th Dan) World Class Start Manager and Jamie Johnson (5th Dan) England Squad coach and a further 6 coaches who hopefully also took something away with them to think about.
I'd like to give a big thanks to all the lads from Bolton catch who turned up to support this session and also the GB Judo squad for showing an active interest in BJJ who hopefully, will carry on being as enthusiastic in intergrating BJJ into the future of British Judo.
Thanks
Ian

nice one!
They have some very talented grapplers. Jamie himself is a badman on the mats!
