Alright people?
I'm looking to start mma hopefully over the next couple weeks if i can get my gear together but looking at groin guards has stumped me. There's too much choice!
This is what I'm looking at at the minute

Another forum told me Shock Doc are good but thought I'd ask on here as well and see if there's an alternative

Unless they've changed them recently, the shock doctor shorts work better if you wear them inside out (true story).

Well, I prefer tight shorts to be worn below my board shorts. So these seemed like the best option. Shorts and cup in one......

Can find them pretty cheap if you shop around :)

Well, medium fits like a 31-32 waist...... I know that ain't too helpful, but atleast it'll give ya a slight idea, lol

Use a metal muay thai cup it'll never break.

I thought about a thai one but thought it'd be a bit more dodgy in grappling

The shock doctor is good and comfortable for grappling but I know from experience that a good kick or knee in the balls still hurts through it as its not very solid. For thai and MMA i recomend a metal thai cup in a standard jockstrap unless you like that leather strap up the crack of your arse. Also if someone kicks you in the balls then their more likely to break their foot than put your balls in your throat.

This is a great shop not many people use, i love it. Fast delivery ad cheap. Shock Doc tends to move around alot from my expirience and make my butterfuly guard a nightmare. strap and cup is your best bet.

Good site lots of cheap stuff! Looking at that link isn't goin to help my bamk balance..
Personally I bought this one a little while ago and found it pretty good but obviously the more expensive ones are going to be more comfyfor longer training sessions. http://www.mmauniverse.com/products/SS344

the shock doctor stuff is great, I use the Ultra MMA shorts (http://www.silvaback.com.au/shock-doctor-shorts-groin-guard.html) but replaced the cup with a Shock Doctor Titan Alloy Flex Cup (http://www.silvaback.com.au/shock-doctor-titan-alloy-flex-cup.html) cup and I'm very happy with it. Never tried to wear them reverse though will give that a go tomorrow.
