hi there
for about 2 weeks ive been suffering from really bad headaches, they start in the morning and get worse throughout the day. ive been to the doctors but he just did a few little tests and give me some strong painkillers, but they dont seem to have any effect. the only changes ive made to my lifestyle is
that ive been eating nuts and taking a protein shake twice a day
can any1 help, if they dont go away im planning on going back to the dsoctors in a week
If the painkillers aren't helping at all, then I'd definitely get back to the doctor ASAP.
If you still don't get any help from the doc, then one other possibility worth considering, especially for grapplers, is that neck problems can sometimes cause headaches. It's possible to do something to your neck without really noticing, and only be aware of the headaches later. If this was the case then a good osteopath might be able to help.

Try a pint of water before bed and one in the morning when you wake. Also drink a pint of water after your protein shakes. When you up your protein intake, you also have to up your water intake. Another thing you could attempt is cutting out caffine if you use it and try an Indian or shiatsu head massage if you've got some spare cash.
They're all things that helped me in the past.

As well as rulling out dehydration by ensuring you have enough fluids going in, I definetly agree with the Dr it needs a trip to the GP just to be sure. My Dad had a really bad headache that got much worse and turn out it was quite serious.
Mind you when I went to Dr over persistent headache-GP told me just stress causing my headaches. Helpful!!

Sounds like it could be de-hydration?

Could be blood sugar level? are you used to a high intake of sugar? maybe do what wedgeboard says on the water but some good fruit or a sugard green tea

thx for the comments, im going to go back to the doctors next week, but ill be sure to drink plenty of water until then
I used to get mega headaches all the time, self medicated with.....generous amounts of pain killers but went to the docs after a while as i knew i going through painkillers like sweets wasn't clever. Anyhoo his suggestion was to try taking pain killers, i wasn't impressed. Eventually got bloods done and even an ecg(whats that all about, lol), everything was fine. Got an eye test as i thought it may be eye strain related, it wasn't.
Anyhoo you may believe this and you may not but now i wear a......pendant type thing form these guys.....

.....only get headaches(mild ones) when i forget to wear it for a length of time.

I'll reiterate what the other guys have said about your water intake. Should always be the first thing you address imho.
