Hi guys
its my first half marathon on Sunday (reading)
Any tips? ive trained for last three months and 10 miles comfortable but thats longest iv run.

yeah im running for a local charity
A young kid who used to come in the shop i worked in set up a childrens charity before he died of cancer, its to set up a holiday home for terminally ill children. So its a great cause and close to home

I did it last year mate. It sounds like you've done the training so just enjoy the day. There is only one hill and the rest of it is pretty straight forward. My time was 1-46.

Good luck dude and don't look at anyone else when you're running. Stay completely in your own world. That way you'll hold your own pace.

I done the Silverstone half a couple of weeks ago in 2 hrs 10. ( the dude above who done his in 1.46 is a machine ). personly, I like to pick someone out in the distance, (silly hat or bright top) and gradually catch them up. Enjoy all that tight licra.

Think your right just gonna try and zone out and keep to my own pace
Gonna eat chicken and rice tonight and try and get good nights sleep
"enjoy all the Lycra" (im tempted to run it in my old hunter fight shorts to wind up my work colleages) but will see how I feel in the morning

cheers for the info finished at 2.06 so not too bad,
zoneing out def the right thing to do helped me keep my pace and meant i didnt have to stop

Well done on your run mate. It's a pretty grueling exercise the first few times you do it.
