This bout will be part of the best-of-five UK vs. Japan series at the show and will be Team UK's first ever bout in the M-1 Challenge.

Obviously disapointed that Fukuda dropped out, but Matt is on fire at the moment so it doesn't matter who they put in front of them

Good luck Matt Thorpe. Why did Fukuda have to pull out?
Also, there seems to be a large, favourable discrepancy in the record posted above (7-4-1) and the record on sherdog (2-5-2) anyone know what it really is?

Nice to see Matt fighting outside the UK once again. Matt's dedication to his training and the successes he's had are often under-rated...especially when you take into consideration he has a full-time job which involves working some very unsocial hours.

Masuda is fighting welterweight?
Did he get his stomach stapled or something?
He used to fight close to 100kgs a few years back...
Im also wondering where did they get this record of his...its not very accurate.
Thorpe should be able to beat him even if Masuda comes in heavier than him.

I have checked extensively on Yusuke's record, and I cannot find 7 wins anywhere lol at most I find 2 wins. But we all know that not every show's results make the records. Saying that I cant see how you can magic 5 more wins from somewhere lol
Matt forgetting records, you most definately are the favourite to win this fight in my mind, and still a great chance to shine on a great Branded Show.
Rest of the UK guys, no doubt you will be firing on all cylinders for this chance and as long as you give 110% the result is irrelevant. Good luck folks.

I think he must of forught on some "smokers" or something. He's gonna regret cutting all that weight when Matt fights him

Definately, coming down from Heavyweight competing to face a very Strong M.T is crazy, Yusuke just wont have enough power regained and energy in the tank to take Matt the only way Yusuke can defeat Matt is quickly, and I dont see that at all the longer it goes the better for Matt without a doubt.
What happened to Riki Fukuda? That's an opponent who really would've got Matt noticed. If I remember rightly Yusuke Masuda isn't very good and hasn't got much of a chin. Matt should fuck him up.
