I was at the last show watching James 'the bathgate destroyer' Thompson

show was crap, worst show ive been to, £30 4 fights and a shit meal.

Out of the 8 fighters on that stellar card maybe one of them seemed ready to be competeing.I really hope this show is better for the promoter, the fighters and the fans, in my opinion scottish MMA in its infant state could really do with out shows like this

£30 for 4 fights? wow..... I'd expect atleast 10 fights for that price lol.

I think what some people need to appreciate here is that was Russell's first show and I'm sure he's learned from that experience (and from other people's comments).
I thought the fights themselves were quite enjoyable, with the exception on James Thompson's bout, which was unfortunately over too quick. In the first you had a great dominant display from Lee McGroarty, in the second Mick Cuff made one hell of a comeback in the final round after clearly to losing the first two and whilst Darren Lansdale-Scott's was over in the first it was a great wee struggle whilst it lasted and the move that ended it was executed perfectly.
I thought the dinner was quite good as well.

Yep same as fighters hive show, first one is never going to be perfect.Smart promoter will learn from there mistakes and ammend them on the next show.

NOt sure July is a good time for a show with loads of people being on holiday though

Hi,

Yes my first show needed alot of work. The fact of the matter is that i lost around £800 out of my own pocket for running this show. Does that detter me from having another bash at it, NO! I love this sport and i will continue to try and bring our little sport to the publics attention whether people try and shoot me down or not.

i have a list of things that i f*cked up on and another list of things that i thought i did quite well. I took a gamble and although it didn't pay off, didn't have the 8 fights that i expected, had a shit meal that was assured to me would be top notch, had trouble with the police trying to shut me down the day before etc. most people still came back and said it was ok.

well i can assure you that i will learn and improve on this. And this next show is my next attempt at it!

James, point noted about it being the holidays - trying for a date in august. Thanks for your constructive input.

Now to get back on point - fighters???

Think you are in your infant state you absolute Moron with input like that.

Halfwits like you will never know how difficult it is to put a show on, at the time, Russel could have been short on contacts, along with everything else that goes with it.

Now, with more contacts made, and he will easily learn from his mistakes, he could probably do without twits like you going to his show.

Until ou fight or promote you will never realise, and if you have done either of the 2, you would never have posted those idiotic comments.

Good Luck with the next show Russell, no doubt it will be better than the last 1, you will defo have more fights, fighters on board for this next show I would imagine.
